Hey everyone! I’m a BU undergrad working on a project to inform Boston residents about our local government by creating and distributing a weekly newsletter summarizing Boston City Council meetings. My goal is to make important government proceedings accessible so busy people can understand what is going on in their city and how they might be affected by new policies. Hey, I'm in the process of joining the army reserve as a 37F. I told my recruiter from the jump that I wanted to go airborne. I go to MEPs to swear in in 5 days. Today she called me and said that there is no airborne in the army reserves and that you can't wear jump wing unless you have done three years of active duty. Both of these are lies. She says she can find me a 37F slot but not an airborne one. However, I called the U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (HQ) and talked to them. They said there are a lot of slots open at multiple airborne units close to me. So what should I do now, and why would my recruiter try to mess over me like this?

Been seeing plenty of post where people complain about solo queueing in RL.
Been playing since 2020. Friends introduced me to the game but i quickly outgrew them.
Kept playing with them, hardstuck champ 1-2 for a year.
Its been 2 months since i stopped playing with them i just reached gc1.
To me, the key to success was solo queue.

• I got the party curse. Ill slap 5 goals 8 saves then my tm8 wants to party up and then boom next game i get 150pts EVERY TIME. So i exclusively solo queue now.

Hello there, my name is Coach Chesster(Yes, an obvious Chess reference, which is, by far, my favorite game). I've been playing League of Legends since season one, I've experienced everything from full AP Yi one-shotting my entire team to Tryndamere mains spinning around with a needlessly large rod instead of a sword. You could say I've been there during all the important historical moments of the game. I've been at the top of the ladder in Season 6 (Going between high Diamond and Challenger, based on how much time I've had to invest). This story took place around 1 year ago the day when the Scimitar was first added to the game. This was originally a reply to a comment but since people enjoyed it so much, I thought I'll give it its own post.
Yes, it is I! The Riposte Accel God in the flesh! I was going buck wild the other day and slaughtered every breathing thing without mercy! Now picture this:
I'm in enemy spawn mowing everything down like there is no tomorrow, mods included. The grass got so low people started to attempt to flee from their fate. I chased them down and let none of them escape. Mind you I'm constantly surrounded dancing like a ballerina that had too much to drink but eventually through a miracle bestowed by God himself, the enemy seemed to have mustered enough resolve to try to end my 47-kill streak.
The 3 smelliest sweats charged me from all angles one was spamming feint like he had lost all reason, another was entering the nastiest animation morph I had ever seen in my sweaty years on the fields, he was using a pole hammer of all weapons. And the last guy was getting ready to stab me with his arming sword using his momentum, I think. Not really sure, as I sent his head flying the moment his teammate archer sent an arrow in his back. Oh well, I guess we'll never know...
But then... like cockroaches on a warm summer night... Enemies were crawling out of every Crack in the walls, screeching like the filthy insects they are. Axes, daggers, javelins every weapon you can name was flying at me. At that point I understood I had to deal with the 2 remaining sweats quickly or else this could get dangerous even for someone like me. Some weapons were able to reach me but every second or half I was squashing a bug under my feet, so I wasn't really worried yet.
I was no longer in offense as there were to many of them and I had to keep enough distance to pick em off three by three. At this point I thought I was playing horde mode.
Now my back is almost against the wall I'm getting a little fatigued the waves just keep coming I can't deal with the 2 sweats now because the 3rd returned with spear and dodge not letting me get close enough to consume a naked firebomber like a health potion. But then I see the firebomber thinking they got me cornered fully and gets ready to throw a firebomb at me not knowing I'm rocking the fireproof perk. The moment I see him lift his hand I immediately jump forward in the air spinning like a bloody Frisby directly in the range of all 3 sweat lords. Home run! I used the firebomb to launch my 360 no hope riposte accel into them with unspeakable violence sending the spear guy's head flying again and tagging the other 2 for certain death.
Laughing like an eastern Nubian I proceeded to dismember the kind firebomber when Suddenly I heard someone's footsteps land behind me. The moment he landed I already turned to make eye contact. Who... after all this... still dares stand in my way? Have I gone too far? Lord God? Have you come to punish me for my sins? Have you come to cleanse me in your blood?!
Before me stood a vile creature of rank 12 holding a scimitar and it immediately started swinging. I ducked and kicked it while I was dancing around it. I knew right away this filthy thing had no skill only primal animal spamming instincts, so I decided I'd put it down swiftly then return to smash bugs.
Ding! Was the sound as it blocked my blade at the back of its head. Must have been desync... whatever I'll just look the creature in its eyes as I divorce its head from its body. Ding! Oh, it must have gotten lucky on my feint morph accel. My legendary riposte accel will end it for sure... Ding! Ding! I cranked up my dpi up 2 notches to max and still couldn't break through. The game wouldn't allow it. I fought the creature until it ran out of Stamina, during our exchange I killed around 10 of its own including some sweats, but I couldn't kill it by itself without draining it of stamina first.

Tl;dr: the past year of my life has been my queer awakening. I’ve discovered that I’m bisexual, but after every single gay encounter I’ve had (a total of about 7,) even though I enjoy it in the moment, I’m immediately afterwards overcome by a profound sense of regret, disgust, and self loathing.
A little backstory: I’m 23 and had always identified as straight, even though I’d certainly been bicurious since my teenage years. Well, last summer I found out I’m certainly not straight, and experimented with about 5 male partners. I did it all (got oral, gave oral, topped, bottomed). Help me make a good investment choice
Hi guys,
I’m interested to see if investing in a Roth or a traditional IRA would be better for me. I’m in my late 30s. I’m probably not gonna be able to retire until I’m 65 or 70. I live in a very high cost of living place. I make about 140,000 a year.
I really like contributing to the IRA that gives me the immediate tax rebate. That way at the end of each year I get money back. I like this.
But I hear it’s better to contribute to the other one. The one that is tax free when you retire.
My employer also offers a 401(k). But it’s a small company and from my understanding the fees are very high. I’m not sure if I should invest anything into the 401(k). My company does NOT match. Also, my really rich friend says that all 401(k) is a scheme by the government and don’t do it.
I don’t have a financial advisor. But all the money that’s left over I put into an vanguard mutual fund with a low fee (but no tax credit). Let me know your thoughts - you financial gurus. I’m also single and no children incase that matters any.
Like what would the numbers look like of instead of 12grand a year into my vanguard index I put that into a high fee 401k. Let’s say for simple math that I earn 10% a year on the index but only 5% a year on the 401k because of the fees. Would it still be worth it to invest into the 401k because of the tax benefits?

I applied to the Master of Science in Sustainable Management and Technology (SMT) and I am trying to make sense of two things.

One, on TUM website for the SMT program, they require to successfully complete specific modules. They are as follows:

• modules worth at least 20 ECTS in business (management)/“Betriebswirtschaftslehre” and/or
• modules worth at least 10 ECTS in economics/“Volkswirtschaftslehre” and/or
• modules worth at least 10 ECTS in circular economy and sustainability and/or
• modules worth at least 5 ECTS in basics in the field of quantitative decision support with methods of operations research and/or
• modules worth at least 5 ECTS in empirical methods

Does that mean covering 20 ECTS modules in business is enough? or do you have to complete all five module categories?

Two, I found a PDF for the Management and Technology program that describes the assessment procedure and how many points you can get for essays, modules, ..etc. I couldn't find one for the Sustainable Management and Technology program. Is it available for anyone?

hi so i’m a 17, nearly 18 year old, and i’ve had my period since i was 10 or 11. recently i’ve become more aware of the amount of excess plastic waste i use, i’m quite concerned about the environment etc and have been vegetarian for 5 years but want to make a shift to using significantly less plastic etc, hence why i’m considering period underwear. i was just wondering if any of you could answer these questions from personal experience. thank you in advance :) 1. does it smell at all through the underwear? 2. i like to wear shorts a lot, and a lot of them are lighter colours. would i be okay wearing cream/ light coloured sorts while wearing period underwear? 3. i find when i wear pads they kinda set off some of my sensory issues because they’re ‘bulky’. do any of you experience this with period underwear? 4. which brands would you recommend (uk) 5. do they actually last as long as the adverts make them out to (like lasting upwards of 10 hours at a time) 6. when you bleed onto them do they feel like pads in the sense you can feel when they’re ‘full’ and you need to change? or is it more subtle than that? thank you very much :)

I’m not a medial professional and I won’t give advice on something I haven’t experienced myself. I just want to give back in a way that I can.

I finally finished a 1 year lease of the most awful apartment. I literally developed a panic disorder and OCD while living there because it was so stressful and I never felt safe.
The landlord was so frustrating because he put on a super friendly "anything you need, just ask!" attitude, but then always "forgot" to actually do anything. It was a year of desperately trying to just feel somewhat okay there.
Here are some of the issues:

1. The fridge broke 3 times over the span of 3 months. Each time it broke, I lost all of my food inside. I had to beg the landlord to just get a new one, which he finally did. Exceeeeept, the landlord is a moron and when they came to get rid of the old one, the landlord didn't realize he had to unhook the water line from the basement himself, so I ended up with the old fridge sitting in the middle of my kitchen for more than a week. Wait it gets worse!! The company was a no-show on like... 3 or 4 separate occasions so I had to take 3 days off of work to wait for them because the landlord wouldn't do it himself. WAIT IT GETS WORSE! The final (4th?) attempt at picking up the fridge, the landlord told me "they are coming any time from 7 AM to 7 PM" and i was like "I have things to do, I can't be in my apartment for 12 hours. Can you please reschedule? And he said.... no! he literally obliged me to sit in my apartment for 12 hours and take a (4th?) day off work.
   
2. The furnace was barely working and vibrated the entire upstairs. My bed literally shook every 20 minutes when the heat kicked on. I went downstairs to inspect it and saw that the filter was like 5 years old and caked in grime. I asked the landlord to please have the furnace maintenance and he said he would. Instead he snuck over and just changed the filter. Never had it looked at. I slept like shit all winter because of it.
   
3. Infestations. Brown recluse spiders everywhere in the summer, centipedes year-round. So many centipedes. I killed like 3 or 4 of them a day.
   
4. He promised to clear out the garage so that I could park in it, since it was included in the lease. Never did. My car is all banged up from street parking now.
   
5. Mold. SO much black colored mold in the basement. He has a dehumidifier down there (which is sneakily plugged into MY electric box so I guess I was paying for it), but it didn't help. The whole basement is leaky and water damaged. Pretty sure the mold made me sick but I can't prove that. I had to throw away a bunch of possessions because of it, including irreplaceable artwork.
   
6. The AC unit wasn't level, instead it was just sloppily sitting on a few bricks and vibrating the entire eastern wall of my apartment. In the warm months I literally couldn't use half of my apartment because it was so loud.
   
7. Two of the 4 stove burners never worked because they were caked in years of grease.
   

Etc etc etc, I could write like 40 more points.
Anyway, I was so excited to move out and then this POS sent me a "move-out checklist" in which he basically said "in order to keep your security deposit, you should hire one of these 2 cleaning companies to do a deep clean. If you want to do it yourself, here's the checklist:"
And then he listed like literally 100 bullet points of things to clean. Insane. Like, inside and outside of windows. Scrub the inside of the dishwasher with baking soda. Wipe down the inside of cabinets. Scrub the baseboards.
It was infuriating because the apartment was dirty as hell when I moved in. Literally there were crumbs in every cabinet and I couldn't even use the oven a single time because of all the burnt shit caked on.
Anyway,
I decided that I just wanted to be DONE with this shit because at the end of the day, my mental health has really suffered and at this point I just want to preserve my sanity.
So I hired the stupid deep cleaning company.
Then I emailed the landlord and very politely but firmly told him that I hired the cleaning company and expect to get my full security deposit back as I'm leaving the apartment in better condition than how I got it. I reminded him of the above issues and informed him that I've documented each of the issues. I told him that my only intention here is to receive my security deposit and then peacefully part ways.
The asshole wrote back today basically saying "sorry u had a bad time. Shoulda told me about these issues tho, I totally would have remedied them!"

Hi Everyone,
I found this sub and wanted to ask some questions to the experts. In college I was previously semi involved in the audio world, I worked for the audio department at the school of music mastering the recital recordings on pro-tools and setting up recording sessions for live and studio events, and tuning everything to Aja best I could. I am completely removed from the world these days. I have a degree in music theory with the focus being jazz so want to be able to listen to the vinyl I own in the best possible fashion, so as someone with zero equipment, to set up a quality turn table, preamp/amp, receiver, speakers and anything you suggest...what do I buy? I understand you can go wild with the 5 figure speakers, but I am talking for a normal home set up with a conservative budget of between $1000 and $1500 if possible.

There's no real point in making this post, just wanted to write it down somewhere, I guess.
I fucking love flying planes in WT. Recently unlocked some US jets (spaded the F80A-5 and just under halfway done with spading the F2H. I haven't exactly played a ton of games in either, and have had 1 or 2 really good games in the F80 (for me, good is getting 2-3 player kills), and in the F80 I regularly get a kill or a couple of assists.
The F2H is a different story altogether, with it being a good game at the moment just getting an assist, or some hits on a player.
I feel like everyone else is just so much better than I am at both positioning and aiming (ESPECIALLY aiming).
I have trouble figuring out how to stick with teammates, or at least who to stick with.
I'm not blaming anyone or looking for pity, just wanted to have a little rant about how shit I am at playing jets. I'm going to park them for now and take a break, because I find myself not really feeling satisfied when my rounds end.
