Hey everyone,
I bought an APX Volt years ago and have never been able to get it to work. I tried again tonight and have been unable to even get perceptible effects, despite similar dosages working fine for me with an oil burner. My process is as follows:

• Load 20mg into APX Volt with bubbler attachment
• Set voltage to 2.8V
• Pre-melt with a few 1-2 second pulses
• Bring mouthpiece to my mouth and begin inhaling, heating the DMT with 2-5 second pulses until the smoke begins to get overwhelming
• Remove mouthpiece once I can no longer inhale, hold smoke in for 3-5 seconds, then exhale.

I get far stronger effects using the same dosage with an oil burner (equivalent to 1-2g shrooms with a 5-10 minute duration), but I'd much rather get my APX Volt working.
Let me know if you see anything wrong with my method here, or have any suggestions.

AITA for feeling bad about my partner saying she's a lesbian?
Me [19 yr old nb] and my gf [18 F] have been together for a year now, she's always identified as a lesbian, but ended up dating me somehow I've always been very forthright about my gender, the point is,recently she won't quit saying she's a lesbian and that's making me feel a little invalidated(? I've expressed this to her but she said shes always felt proud of saying she's a lesbian and also that she doesn't want to say she's bi (prefers nb people and women) bc people will think she likes men and that's embarrassing and gross. Idk how to feel or if I should tell her again this makes me sad and dysphoric and I just feel like the asshole bc it's idk am I pushing her to "change"?

Last year I switched to Mint Mobile because I'm abroad so often. It's great, always connected, voice and text always works and it's easy to stay in touch with folks in the US. I use a local SIM for local data and calls over here in Europe.
There's one problem though: there keep being random $0.20 data charges for no reason. Data roaming is switched off, data fallback to other SIM is switched off, etc.
Now it seems like there is an iPhone bug that causes a few kB of data to be used in some circumstances. It's not supposed to but that's what happens. Other carriers have also observed this problem and what they do is don't charge until you rack up at least 10 kB or 50 kB or so of data.
Not Mint: it charges you a full MB, which fortunately is just $0.20. However some days it'll use up to $0.60. Most of my roaming balance is now being spent on these ghost charges where iPhone uses 2 kB or so and Mint charges $0.20. Kind of makes me wonder what happens in countries where roaming costs upward of $2 per MB.
Mint folks, is there anything you can do about this?

I'm from Croatia and will be traveling to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin soon and living there for a few months for work and had a few questions if someone could please help me.

1. wouldn't want to offend anyone but have heard of a mindset in France that people avoid speaking English and that worries me a little bit, and was wondering if that is true at all and if yes what would be some useful phrases to know in Cherbourg?

Wondering if Weather-sealing is necessary in camera? I mean I'm not shooting in heavy rain, but sometimes it drizzles which droplets drop on the camera, and if I come out from a super cold (air-conditioned?) room, there'll be condensation. Will weather-sealing be useful for the two secnarios I mentioned or regular camera is sufficient to withstand those?

The new X-S20 is really tempting. But things that drag me down is the lack of weather sealing and the dials, which I'd much prefer XT and X100V dials. But I can deal without the dials as X-S20 unmarked dials are still customizable.
I have X100V almost for a year and it re-ignited my passion for photography. Background: I sold off my underutilized canon dslr which I used to use much more when I was in US, then I'm back in Asian country which is always humid and hot, so my thin wrist started feeling the weight of that camera, plus heat does not help.
I got back to photography and fell in love with X100V compactibility and fuji's dials and film simulation. I use it often for street photography and travel and taking photos of friends.
But recently I'm getting more serious about photography, and venturing into portraits, I feel the fixed f2 24mm lens is bogging me down sometimes as I can't zoom or have more bokeh as I hope it will be.
I know a photographer skill is much more important than gear and I do agree with that, but I do miss my old canon dslr where I had interchangeable lens at times.
So, I've been contemplating to get a 2nd body that have interchangeable lens and IBIS for occasional video filming. Thinking between fujifilm XT4 and XS20.
XT4 - Love everything except its weight at 600g, and I heard the IBIS and auto-focus not so stable. Used price of XT4 is almost same as a brand new XS20. But the weight is 100g more than XS20.
X-S20 - The ergonomic grip, the weight, flip screen, ibis and the new processor are tempting BUT no weather-sealing and lack of fuji usual dials are bummer.. I can get used without fuji dials, but the lack of weather-sealing makes me think twice.

I thought about X-T5 but I'm in the minority that desires a flippy screen. Thats why my decision was between XT4 and XS20.
XT5 - I think this was almost perfect for me except for the tilt screen. Tilt screen is useful for street, but for portrait, when it's low angle vertical mode, flippy screen is much useful imo and its versatility to be used for vlogging.
I guess, I can never have the "perfect" camera. What are your thoughts about weather-sealed camera? Is it really important even under mild scenarios I pointed out in the beginning?

I’m 28 years old. I work in NYC at a publicly traded healthcare tech company. My only education is a bachelors in computer science. I mainly WFH and don’t go into the office. I do mostly application support (for those of you who know what that is)
I hate that I feel the way I do, because I know I have it pretty good. I WFH, have unlimited PTO, good benefits, am mostly treated well, and have the luxury of a gorgeous office when I do feel like going in.
But I’m finding that I just feel DEAD inside doing this. I see nurses and people in healthcare actually making a difference in people’s lives… And what am I really doing? To get myself to learn new topics in tech is like pulling teeth and it bores me to death. But if I go back to school for something else now- It would probably take years of education and I don’t know how well I could handle that with a full time job already.
I was wanting to get married and have a family(my ultimate goal)- In that case, my job would be perfect because it’s flexible. I’ve kind of given up on that dream (dating isn’t working out for me). So now I’m thinking- Wow I’m really just gonna be WFH 8 hours a day and alone at night every night for the rest of my life. I at least want to be more fulfilled with what I’m doing during the day.

Back story: I have a 3 year old autistic client that I see in home. I’ve been with this child for about 4 months now and I’ve established a great relationship with his parents and do a lot of parent coaching along with play based therapy. Child is a GLP and we’ve been introducing functional gestalts and he’s been doing great. The parents started ABA per doctor’s recommendation about 1 month after I started and have been back and forth about whether to continue. There have been a few different RBTs but the newest is brand new to the job and has no training- mom reports he is like a babysitter and just shows the child YouTube videos mostly. Mom doesn’t see any benefit from ABA.
My issue: The other day mom told me the BCBA brought a PECs book for the (untrained) RBT to implement. I explained that I didn’t agree with implementing this as it requires withholding and is counterintuitive to what we are working on with NLA and functional gestalts. I explained that it’s limiting and other AAC would be explored if I thought necessary.
The owner of the company called mom a few days later to ask why sessions had been cancelled and mom explained that her child had a broken foot and was getting his cast off. Mom reports company owner was very rude and dismissive, and then asked about how PECs was going. Mom explained what she and I discussed the other day and told owner she didn’t want it implemented. Owner then says that the SLP (me) is not qualified to make recommendations about PECs since I am not trained in ABA and she wouldn’t make recommendations about speech and language (uhh what??) I looked at this women’s website and it includes the following as program targets: -communication skills -verbal behavior -PECs -sign language -augmentative communication devices (Proloquo2Go/Dynavox)
While I’m pissed about all of those, the last item (AAC) specifically concerns me as it is completely out of scope. My question is should I report this and to whom would I report?
Also-child is no longer receiving ABA after that phone call- mom was done 🤙

I had a working interview at a clinic today as a vet assistant and I was shadowing an assistant and a tech. When the cat wasn't cooperating on the scale, the tech told the assistant to " just scruff the cat" and she did.
I have a years experience working as an assistant and worked in a different city. (Although, it's been two and half years since I've been in vet med) In my old clinic, I was told off the bat that the clinic was fear free. I learned how to restrain without any use of scruffing.
I asked both the tech and assistant if they practiced fear free in their clinic and the response was no. I explained that at my old clinic was, another assistant walked by and said "Fear Free is a pain in the ass". 3 other techs agreed.
Is this a red flag? I know I was told if I was ever uncomfortable in a situation, I wouldn't have to do it. However, I don't want to be the assistant that refuses to scruff... but I also dislike scruffing dogs and cats.
Does scruffing cause long term injury at all? Am I overreacting? Should I stick with my morals?
I'm at a loss...

I would consider myself a jack of all trades as i have severe ADHD. To put it in perspective, I've been going to college for 10 years (minus my time in the us army) and i only have an associates degree. My hobbies include reading, playing with my dog and cooking. I don't really have that great of a job tbh, just a security guard. I go to church from time to time but religion isn't something I take seriously at all but i do enjoy studying about it.
I can speak English and Mandarin, am currently learning Turkish.
My car has problems and isn't very reliable so i prefer that you be close by if we're going to meet but in all honesty we can just chat online if that's what you like.
