2023.06.01 00:52 Fast_Bedroom_3267 Story Notes Around TBHC
So... I've been writing a personal story, and it surrounds Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino. A few friends I showed them to said I should share them in the community - I don't know if this is the place to share them, but I thought... May as well. They include my interpretations of the songs as well.
A hotel owner who takes her place as the receptionist... And is also looking for stories to write about, inspiration for her science fiction novels. A lover who decides to not give into is darker, more lustful desires, instead waiting for his lover's calls. A friend who's concerned about what's going on through experience, a friend who's concerned through context. A distant acquaintance that shares the feeling with the lounge singer about still fantasizing about each other from time to time, and that feeling is mutual with other young men. A young lady who is happy to find comfort in the hotel owner's world. Friends that are happy about the new world they can experience. The tales of Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino. (A description for a story inside of a story.)
Star Treatment: This number is the first we hear at the location. It sets the scene as the hotel and casino is a lovely, calm place that the owner has created and started for her friends. We find out the owner has also become the lounge singer, starting a 'cover' band called 'The Martini Police'. This song also makes some references to Science Fiction properties, which the lounge singer loves... We find out the hotel has been opened for everyone... And anyone. The lounge singer puts on a show for her friends, weaving metaphors together, a signature of her work. She even says she just wanted to be like the members of a band, maybe foreshadowing... Her friends look on, happy she's singing. She also makes reference to the fact that she wants to haunt the one she loves and hopes it's okay, but they're in a tough spot... For now. In fact, that may change, everyone's enjoying the residency, which the Lounge Singer even refers to the place as her 'Make-Belive Residency'. And she, along with everyone love it.
One Point Perspective - The Lounge Singer now sings to a much smaller crowd. Her friends that are much closer to her... She lists her intentions, past and present... Everything from starting the 'Cover Band', talkinh about a stunning documentary only she saw, and asking everyone to bear with her, she's losing her train of thought... She says that she's played to quiet rooms like this before, and while there's an element of sadness, she's really just glad and grateful she has friends to talk and sing to about her thought, no matter how random or existential they are. She likes reflection, no matter how small her perspective is... For now.
American Sports - This song is from the perspective of The Concerned Friend From Experience. He's friends with The Hotel Owner, but he's experienced strange visions and dreams that he suspects are tied to the hotel. He reflects on thoughts he keeps to himself, and perhaps he's not the only one having these visions... There may be some overlap with others. He never tells anyone these thoughts, for that's not what his peers are there for. He then makes a snide comment about explosive visions, similar to the American Sports he loves, plays, and sees others just outside playing.
Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino - This song is once again sung by the Lounge Singer. The Hotel Owner has now decided to take her rightful place as the receptionist - Little does she know the consequences... She reflects on everything the place means to her, guiding her friends along this place, to custom rooms and architecture she can't help but adore. She invites the young man she loves to kiss him, and asks her friends what she can do for them. She asks them to let loose, maybe even let their darksides out to play... Something the hotel and casino is trying to bring out. There's also an ominous buzzing and red light, something The Receptionist is trying to figure out why... Something's being hidden, but why? This is her hotel and casino...
Anyways: This track shows exactly why The Hotel Owner takes so much comfort and pride in the hotel and casino, despite the looming visions and possible dangers her friends are sharing - she needs a break from her real life. She reflects on her popular status, and how that has affected what she overshares and overthinks while vacuuming. She comes to sit down in an empty room, and this is the only song not performed in front of anyone else. She just wants to show who she really is, and thanks everyone who's stuck around with her. Being her isn't easy, she has so much to deal with, which others barely take time to think of, just trying to change the conversation to 'Anyways'. The number ends with one of her friends entering to check on her, ending the self-reflection.
Golden Trunks: Something dark is definitely happening at this place... Some people allowing their dark desires to overtake them. But why? This song is from the perspective of The Vindicated Friend. Yet as the number progresses, more voices join in, reflecting that... Everyone knows that The Lounge Singer has her eyes on someone else, he's even The Vindicated Friend's best friend. Yet... The Lounge Singer relented that it's always hard to live on, especially that now she's forgiven him. She admits that sometimes, her fantasies about the past get the better of her. Some over-sharing characteristic of her, he thinks, but he hates the fact he also does... And he's not the only one. Now... They're invited for it to become reality. But by who? The forces of the hotel and casino... Why?
Four Out Of Five: The ominous buzzing and red light has only intensified. And not just for The Receptionist. The Concerned Friend From Context has now found out the 'past' of the establishment, and now she, The Concerned Friend From Experience have gotten more rapid visions... As well as many other patrons. The Lounge Singer puts on a show for the grand opening of The Information Action Ratio, a taqueria she put on the roof of the casino. Yet, beneath her cheery vineer, she knows something is going on in the world she created, at the hotel and casino of her own making. She hates that, and wants to make everything better. She reflects on the state of the world that she doesn't want to return to, and tries to be cheeky and fun, happy to share some lovely Mexican food with her friends. Until she notices some are absent... How? Why? Why have her friends disappeared? Where have they gone?
The World's First Monster Truck Front Flip: A song that is a reflection of The Friend Who's Just Happy To Be Here. It's not that she took her friendship with The Hotel Owner for granted, but she never knew she was capable of... This! She has never had the easiest life, so being offered a getaway where all she has to do is press a button, is a happy comfort she doesn't mind to take part in. She has a lot more trust in The Hotel Owner than The Hotel Owner has in her, but the gap is being closed. There's so much for her, shows for her to see, time she can spend with her friends and her boyfriend. It doesn't matter that the hotel and casino wants her to be a little darker... After all, she's a bad girl trying to be good, happy to have a friend who supports her.
Science Fiction: The Lounge Singer indulges in her cheeky writing, and we find out she's The Aspiring Science Fiction Writer. Dark events are occuring around her, and it's not that she's oblivious, she just doesn't know the depth. She's fine to sing a complicated, multi-layer love song to The Young Man Who's Unsure If He's Even In Love. She even references the fact that him, and his other friends, probably have no idea what she's talking about. She's singing songs about hidden messages, and they're certainly staying that way.
She Looks Like Fun: As The Young Man Who's Unsure If He's Even In Love watches The Lounge Singer, he can't help but sink deeper into his lustful fantasies. He's trying his best to focus on what she's singing about, and even if she does a damn good job singing a line as ridiculous as 'Cheeseburger', he can't help but comb through memories of their past... Maybe if he was to return her feelings, things wouldn't be so bad. She's a damn good dancer, and he's not the only one who thinks so... Everyone watching her would be inclined to agree. Perhaps she would be a fun girlfriend...
Batphone: The Young Man Who's Unsure If He's Even In Love knows there's a batphone that will give him immediate, private access to The Receptionist, but is keen to wait for her to call. Batman imagery means a lot to them, and he reflects in her cheekiness. He's an introspective young man, so he reflects on everything he's never told his friends... The hotel and casino seems to have that effect on people. Another effect occurring is... Dark forces and energy around him. Something strange is going on, but he's oblivious. He's too busy making his observations that he can can only share with The Receptionist. He's chosen to not given into the lustful tendencies that the hotel and casino have called him to. He's still not committing to her, or even giving her a straight answer, but maybe she'll know he's waiting... As he thinks about what's going on in the hotel and casino, because... Come to think of it, where have some of his friends gone?
The Ultracheese: The conflict is over. All that's left is The Hotel Owner and her friends. Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino is going to close its doors temporarily, as it'll have to be re-done soon, and The Hotel Owner will have to return to reality. She thinks about the ironic death she could die, despite the fact she's immortal... Writing songs about everything she's lost, like the friends that she still thinks of, has pictures of on the wall. Those people were far from her friends, so now she's just happy that she has the friends that surround her now that lover her no matter what. She knows she's done things in the past she shouldn't have, and even apologizes for the damage that may have been caused from the hotel and casino. Her friends embrace her in a hug, and she looks out, not just to The Young Man Who's Unsure If He's Even In Love, but to all of her friends, that despite everything, especially in the past year, she's never stopped loving them. Their presence has made this sad song at least into a bittersweet one. It's the perfect way to end their summer, and the perfect bookend of their friendships.
However, even the songs that aren't primarily sung by The Lounge Singer, she still sings these songs in her dreams... These songs are their stories, but the whole thing is her story as well.

2023.06.01 00:41 Sadchology New Reddit Account + Near Mental Break Down Bonus!
I created a new reddit account for the purposes of typing down my thoughts; I didn't realize how much journaling actually doe's for me. If I don't write it down it just continues to build up; It takes me a while to release these thoughts. On the other topic, I created another reddit account as the last one had stalkers on it... I hope it doesn't happen again. Of course I don't need to type my every thought on here, but it feels good to press that post button and send them away; like I'm talking to a pen pal.
I feel very lonely. I made some online friends by pure chance. I first met the two of them back in october 2022. I felt this pit in my chest that needed filling. I usually don't join v.c's on discord after entering random servers, but I was desperate and thought: "What's the worst that can happen,I can just log off". I am so very glad I did this. We still text each other! On one hand it brings me so much joy to be around people that accept me and have similar interests; On the other hand, I Think about them all the time and get all sorts of strange thoughts and strenous emotions, that sometimes drives me to faint nausea.
I often think about deleting all my social media and starting over, as having online friends often doesn't fully satisfy me. I still feel alone. I felt less alone, when I had no-one; What a paradox! I can't actually touch them, walk along side them, feel safe by them. There is a limited experience when it comes to online relationships. I feel like I'm starting to slip and lose my hold on people; I feel our boats slowly drift apart. Ocassionaly there may be a change in wind and sail; and we drift slightly closer. Although to stay close required a prolonged effort and this attraction need's to be willed. One
of my friends seem to have always kept a distance. I wish to get closer, But I am horrible at social interactions and rack my brain trying to think of what to say to them and how to carry on the conversation. On the verge of metal breakdown I started texting everyone; I first started to attempt conversations on discord servers, but it was in vain, I couldn't get anything going. I have no word's left, no more quips, I am trying to find someone to talk to even if I am completely interested in them and it shows. My attempts at making new "friends" went horribly. I think I just wanted to feel validated; Or perhaps I trying to ignite new friendships as I feel my current ones are at a certain cross roads. I could attempt to grow the relationships, But I feel as if they don't like me, I always feel like this, and want to give up.
I texted all three of my whatsapp friends today also, I am so desperate for something. I was thinking a moment ago that they must hate me, and I mean nothing to them, That I am a horrible person, with an awful personality. I still can't get this idea out of head, that everyone else must hate me. Could it be possible that it's true? I don't think so, but my relationships at work are on the verge of telling me otherwise.
One thing that has always irked me with life, Is that we have to move on, changes have to be made, whether you like it or not. My original defence against this inevitable tide, is to give up early, to ignore people and delete my accounts once I start to like them. This way I feel like I can't get caught up in that feeling, that everything will be gone, and all that will be left are memories. I understand it's stupid, but sabotage is how I have dealt with it for a long time, and not much has changed; I still get urges to ghost everyone and start over; Because how much I love people, and I never want them to leave me! I am not jesus, I get tired of people sometimes, and this makes me feel disappointed as... I'm not entirely sure, what I actually feel.
Let me try to understand it. I Sometimes open my whatsapp, or discord; look at some people who I haven't talked to in a while and I feel some sort of sadness, or disappointment. I would love to be their friend! But maybe it's not meant to be? No, this isn't what I feel, I don't understand it. I am in perplexion. That isn't the correct feeling. Again, it could be described as some sort of emptiness. Perhaps it's disappointment in a relationship never fully realized; I wish for beautiful relationships! I my self don't know what it means. I would like to be really close to someone. How do I go about doing this? How do I attract people? I am attracted to people, but no-one is ever attracted to me?
Why is no-one attracted to me? Of course it must be my personality. I'm not sure what I am, and I'm sure other's don't either. More internal reflection is required. I feel like I'm just drifiting through life, clueless of what lies dormant. Of course I do have some core principles and vapid ideologies. When I ask myself the question: "What reason is there for me to live, I often think, "none, but as long as I'm here I will try and do some good". This would be the reason for attempting veganism; Hopefully one day I will be able to commit fully to it. I am also an antinatlist, and against consumerism as people are ofetn exploited In industries required by capitalism.
I try and be nice to people, but, I am terrible at being compassionate, A part of me just won't let me. I often act very coldly as another defence mechanism, It's a behaviour I learned a long time ago and admittely it has lowered the quality of my life greatly. I want to bloom! But how? How do I become this other person? Should I experience this mostly alone, or surround myself with people I love? In which way do I develop? Thre is this tendancy to fall back into though patterns that have prevades most of my life: self-loathing, general negative thoughts about the world, and suicidal ideation. I think about suicide alot; and have been for atleast a decade. I just feel like I can't get along with people, as it I am some sort of alien. I also often think about, as previously stated, my purpose for existence; There really isn't one thing I would like to dedicate my life too. And thinking about spending chunks of my life focus on a certain field fills me with dread, knowing how many more things there are to experience!
I really struggle with living, but I get up again, and again; Drag myself through these motions, and rituals. I fear death, I can't kill myself. I would tell myself that I believe it will get better somewhere around the corner; I don't believe that. What I am doing right now isn't living. Again I am filled with a profound sense of emptiness. It always come's back to this dreaded emptiness.
I felt like I could write another 10 paragraphs, but i've had enough for now.

Hi, I’m looking for some friends from the Sun and Ocean regions. They’re the only Vivillon patterns I still need. I gift daily, prioritising lowest friendship levels first. I also send out raid invites fairly often and will accept raids invites too 👍

Please send me a gift first to prove your region. If I don’t receive a gift after two days or you are not from the region specified, I will unfortunately have to unfriend as I already have a lot of players to gift! Thanks 🙂

2023.06.01 00:17 _Nightscape_ My Two month plan to become a GM for Pathfinder - Month One. What can be improved?
ChatGPT helped me come up with this study plan to learn to host a one-shot Pathfinder game in two months. Here is the first month; the detail is too long for one post. Any suggestions on how to improve the study guide is appreciated.
Week 1:
- Day 1: Read Chapter 1 (Basics), Chapter 2 (Character Creation), and Chapter 3 (Playing the Game) of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook.
- Day 2: Read Chapter 4 (Skills), Chapter 5 (Feats), and Chapter 6 (Equipment) of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook.
- Day 3: Read Chapter 7 (Magic), Chapter 8 (Spells), and Chapter 9 (Adventuring) of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook.
Nightly Homework (Week 1):
Create a Sample Character:
For each night of Week 1, your homework will revolve around creating a sample character. This exercise will help you familiarize yourself with the character creation process and the various options available to players in Pathfinder 2nd Edition. Here's a breakdown of the nightly tasks:
- Night 1: Choose Ancestry and Heritage: Select an ancestry for your character, such as Human, Elf, or Dwarf. Explore the different heritage options available for that ancestry and choose one that resonates with your character concept. Take notes on any racial abilities or unique features.
- Night 2: Determine Ability Scores: Assign ability scores to your character's Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Consider the role or concept you have in mind for your character and distribute the scores accordingly. Take note of any ability modifiers or adjustments based on your ancestry and heritage.
- Night 3: Choose a Background: Select a background for your character, which represents their upbringing, training, or past experiences. Consider the skills, ability boosts, and other benefits provided by the chosen background. Think about how it fits into your character's story and motivations.
- Night 4: Select a Class: Decide on a class for your character, such as Fighter, Wizard, or Rogue. Read through the class description, abilities, and initial proficiencies. Take note of the class features, skills, and proficiencies your character gains at 1st level.
- Night 5: Finalize Details: Complete any remaining character creation steps. Choose skills, determine hit points, select starting equipment, and make any additional choices or adjustments based on your chosen ancestry, background, and class. Ensure that all choices align with your character concept and the rules outlined in the chapters you've read.
By completing these nightly homework tasks, you'll have a fully fleshed-out sample character ready for your one-shot session. This exercise will give you a deeper understanding of character creation and the mechanics of Pathfinder 2nd Edition. It will also help you become familiar with the specific abilities and options available to players, enabling you to better guide your players when they create their own characters for the game.
Weekend Project (Week 1): Create a Sample Adventure Scene
Rather than focusing on a full encounter or puzzle, for this weekend project, you'll create a sample adventure scene based on the chapters you've read so far. This exercise will help you apply your knowledge of character creation, basic gameplay, and equipment. Here's how you can approach it:
- Setting: Choose a location for your adventure scene. It could be a dense forest, a mysterious cave, or a bustling marketplace. Consider the atmosphere, potential challenges, and the overall theme or purpose of the scene.
- Characters: Create a few non-player characters (NPCs) that the player character(s) may encounter in the scene. Give them names, appearances, and brief descriptions. Consider their roles, motivations, and how they can interact with the player character(s).
- Goal or Objective: Determine the goal or objective of the adventure scene. It could be a simple task like delivering a message, solving a minor conflict, or gathering information from an NPC. Keep it focused and achievable within the scope of a one-shot session.
- Challenges and Interactions: Plan potential challenges or interactions that the player character(s) may face in the scene. These can be skill-based encounters, social interactions, or small combat situations. Ensure that the challenges align with the rules you've learned so far, such as skills, feats, or basic combat mechanics.
- Rewards or Consequences: Consider the potential rewards or consequences for the player character(s) based on their actions or choices in the scene. These can include valuable information, new equipment, or minor impacts on the overall story. Ensure that the rewards or consequences are meaningful and have a direct impact on the narrative or gameplay.
By creating a sample adventure scene, you'll get a hands-on experience in applying the rules and concepts you've learned. It will also give you a chance to practice designing encounters, creating NPCs, and guiding the player's choices within a focused setting. Remember to keep it manageable within the time constraints of a one-shot session.
Week 2:
- Day 4: Read Chapter 10 (Playing the Game), Chapter 11 (Magic Items), and Chapter 12 (Gamemastering) of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook.
- Day 5: Read Chapter 13 (Game Mastering Basics) and Chapter 14 (Running Encounters) of the Gamemastery Guide.
- Day 6: Read Chapter 15 (Adventuring) and Chapter 16 (Building Encounters) of the Gamemastery Guide.
Nightly Homework (Week 2):
Create a Brief Outline for Your One-Shot Session:
During Week 2, your homework will revolve around creating a brief outline for your one-shot session. This exercise will help you structure the narrative, plan key encounters, and consider important NPCs and their motivations. Here's a breakdown of the nightly tasks:
- Night 4: Define the Central Conflict: Determine the central conflict or problem that the player characters will face in your one-shot session. It could be a rescue mission, a heist, or a mystery to solve. Outline the main objective and consider potential twists or complications that can arise.
- Night 5: Plan Key Encounters: Identify the key encounters or challenges that the player characters will face throughout the session. These can include combat encounters, social interactions, skill-based challenges, or puzzles. Determine the purpose and difficulty of each encounter and how they contribute to the overall story.
- Night 6: Develop Important NPCs: Create a list of important non-player characters (NPCs) that the players will encounter during the session. Give each NPC a name, appearance, and a brief description of their role in the story. Consider their motivations, relationships with other NPCs, and how they can interact with the player characters.
- Night 7: Outline the Narrative Flow: Develop a general outline of the narrative flow of the session. Consider the pacing, the order of encounters and events, and any branching paths or choices that the players can make. Outline the beginning, middle, and end of the session, ensuring a clear progression and resolution.
- Night 8: Refine and Revise: Review and refine the outline you have created so far. Make any necessary adjustments, add more details or subplots, and ensure a cohesive and engaging structure for the session. Consider the balance between different types of encounters and opportunities for player agency and decision-making.
By completing these nightly homework tasks, you'll have a solid outline for your one-shot session. This exercise will help you structure the session's narrative and encounters, ensuring an engaging and coherent gameplay experience. It will also provide you with a framework to guide your players through the session and keep the game flowing smoothly.
Weekend Project (Week 2): Create a Detailed Map for Your One-Shot Session
For this weekend project, you'll create a detailed map for the locations where your one-shot session takes place. Having a well-designed map helps both you and the players visualize the environment, navigate the areas, and adds immersion to the game. Follow these steps to create your map:
- Determine Key Locations: Identify the important locations in your one-shot session, such as a town, dungeon, or wilderness area. Consider the purpose and significance of each location within the narrative.
- Sketch the Layout: Begin by sketching a rough layout of each location. It doesn't have to be artistically perfect, but it should provide a general sense of the area's layout, including key features, landmarks, and points of interest.
- Add Details: Add details to your sketch, including specific rooms, structures, or natural features. Consider the purpose and function of each area within the location. Incorporate any elements that may affect gameplay, such as obstacles, traps, or hidden passages.
- Label and Annotate: Label the various areas and features on your map to provide clarity. Use descriptive names for key locations, and annotate important details or notes that will assist you during the game. This can include NPC locations, potential encounters, or any relevant information for the players.
- Finalize the Map: Once you're satisfied with the sketch and details, transfer it to a clean or digital format. You can use map-making software or online tools to create a more polished version of your map. Consider adding color, shading, or symbols to enhance readability and aesthetics.
- Optional: Create Player Handouts: If desired, consider creating separate maps or handouts for the players to use during the game. These can be smaller sections of the main map or specialized maps for specific encounters or challenges.
By creating a detailed map, you'll have a visual representation of the locations in your one-shot session. This will aid in describing the environment to the players, planning encounters, and ensuring consistency in your storytelling. It will also serve as a valuable reference during the game, helping you navigate the world and keep track of important details.
Week 3:
- Day 7: Read Chapter 17 (Creating NPCs) and Chapter 18 (Building Worlds) of the Gamemastery Guide.
- Day 8: Read Chapter 19 (Rewards) and Chapter 20 (Designing Adventures) of the Gamemastery Guide.
- Day 9: Read Chapter 21 (Campaigns) and Chapter 22 (Running Published Adventures) of the Gamemastery Guide.
Nightly Homework (Week 3):
Create Compelling Non-Player Characters (NPCs):
During Week 3, your nightly homework will revolve around creating memorable and engaging NPCs that the players will encounter in your one-shot session. NPCs can bring life to the game world, provide quests or information, and offer opportunities for interaction. Here's a breakdown of the nightly tasks:
- Night 9: Determine Key NPCs: Identify the key NPCs that the players are likely to interact with during the session. These can include allies, villains, quest givers, or important individuals within the setting. Consider their roles in the story and their motivations.
- Night 10: Develop Personalities and Backgrounds: For each key NPC, develop their personalities and backgrounds. Think about their quirks, values, and attitudes. Consider their past experiences, goals, and any secrets or conflicts they may have.
- Night 11: Establish Relationships: Determine the relationships between the NPCs. Consider their alliances, rivalries, friendships, or conflicts. This will add depth and complexity to the interactions between NPCs and the players.
- Night 12: Outline Dialogue and Interactions: Outline the potential dialogue and interactions the players may have with the NPCs. Consider their mannerisms, speech patterns, and any unique traits. Prepare important information or clues the NPCs may provide.
- Night 13: Create Backstory Hooks: Identify opportunities to connect the NPCs to the players' backstories or personal goals. This can create personal investment and intrigue for the players. Consider how the NPCs can provide assistance, challenges, or opportunities related to the players' backgrounds.
By completing these nightly homework tasks, you'll have a roster of well-developed NPCs that can enrich your one-shot session. These NPCs will have distinct personalities, backgrounds, and motivations, making them more engaging for the players to interact with. They can provide quests, information, or become recurring allies or adversaries, adding depth to the game world and enhancing the overall storytelling experience.
Weekend Project (Week 3): Design a Dynamic Encounter
For this weekend project, you'll design a dynamic encounter that offers an engaging and challenging experience for the players in your one-shot session. A dynamic encounter includes multiple elements, such as combat, environmental factors, and strategic choices. Follow these steps to create your encounter:
- Determine the Objective: Decide on the objective or goal of the encounter. It could be defeating a group of enemies, solving a puzzle, or navigating a treacherous environment. Consider how the encounter fits into the overall narrative and what the players can gain or lose based on their success or failure.
- Establish the Environment: Choose a specific setting or location for the encounter. Consider how the environment can impact the encounter. Are there hazards, obstacles, or unique features that the players can interact with strategically? Ensure that the environment adds depth and provides opportunities for creative problem-solving.
- Populate the Encounter: Determine the opponents or creatures the players will face during the encounter. Consider their strengths, weaknesses, and unique abilities. Ensure that the difficulty level aligns with the capabilities of the player characters and the overall challenge you want to present.
- Include Dynamic Elements: Introduce dynamic elements to make the encounter more engaging and exciting. This can include timed events, changing environmental conditions, or unexpected reinforcements. Think about how these elements can affect the flow and strategy of the encounter.
- Design Tactical Options: Provide the players with tactical options and choices during the encounter. Consider different approaches or paths they can take to achieve the objective. Include interactive elements, such as objects they can interact with or strategic positions they can utilize.
- Test and Refine: Playtest the encounter to ensure it offers a balanced and enjoyable experience. Make adjustments as needed based on the feedback and observations from the playtest. Pay attention to the pacing, difficulty, and player engagement throughout the encounter.
By designing a dynamic encounter, you'll provide the players with a memorable and immersive experience. This encounter will challenge their abilities, promote strategic thinking, and encourage teamwork. It will also showcase your creativity as a Game Master and provide an exciting highlight within your one-shot session.
Week 4:
- Day 10: Review the chapters you find most challenging or want to deepen your understanding of. Take notes on specific rules or concepts you want to clarify.
- Day 11: Review the combat rules, including actions, conditions, and spells commonly used in combat encounters.
- Day 12: Review the skills and abilities of your sample character. Familiarize yourself with their options and think about their role in the one-shot session.
Nightly Homework (Week 4):
Create Engaging Puzzles and Challenges:
During Week 4, your nightly homework will revolve around designing puzzles and challenges that will engage and challenge the players in your one-shot session. These elements can add variety and intrigue to the gameplay, providing opportunities for problem-solving and critical thinking. Here's a breakdown of the nightly tasks:
- Night 14: Determine the Purpose: Identify the purpose or objective of the puzzles and challenges. Consider how they contribute to the overall narrative or the specific location where they are encountered. Determine what the players need to accomplish or discover to overcome these obstacles.
- Night 15: Design Puzzle Mechanics: Determine the mechanics of the puzzles and challenges. Think about the rules, actions, or steps the players need to take to solve them. Consider logical connections, patterns, or clues that can lead to the solution. Ensure that the puzzles are challenging but solvable with proper deduction and exploration.
- Night 16: Create Visual Aids: If applicable, create visual aids or props to accompany the puzzles or challenges. This can include maps, diagrams, riddles written on parchment, or physical objects that represent elements of the puzzle. Visual aids can enhance immersion and provide additional clues or hints.
- Night 17: Balance Difficulty: Evaluate the difficulty level of the puzzles and challenges. Ensure they are appropriately challenging for the player characters' abilities and the overall session's difficulty. Adjust the complexity or clues provided, if necessary, to maintain engagement without causing frustration.
- Night 18: Prepare Alternative Solutions: Consider alternative solutions or paths to overcome the puzzles and challenges. Allow for creative thinking and improvisation from the players. Think about potential rewards or consequences for different approaches, encouraging exploration and experimentation.
By completing these nightly homework tasks, you'll have a collection of engaging puzzles and challenges ready to be integrated into your one-shot session. These elements will provide moments of mental stimulation and interaction for the players, fostering problem-solving skills and encouraging teamwork. They will add depth and variety to the gameplay, making the session more memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Weekend Project (Week 4): Design a Unique Setting
For this weekend project, you'll design a unique and immersive setting that serves as a backdrop for your one-shot session. The setting should be intriguing, visually appealing, and offer opportunities for exploration and interaction. Follow these steps to create your setting:
- Determine the Theme: Decide on the theme or concept for your setting. It could be a haunted mansion, a mystical forest, a bustling city, or any other theme that fits your session's narrative. Consider the atmosphere, mood, and overall ambiance you want to convey.
- Establish Key Locations: Identify the key locations within the setting. These could be landmarks, important buildings, or distinct areas that the players will encounter during the session. Consider their relevance to the story and the unique features or elements that make them stand out.
- Develop the Environment: Describe the physical environment of your setting in detail. Consider the geography, climate, flora, and fauna. Think about how these elements impact the atmosphere and affect the characters' interactions within the setting.
- Populate the Setting: Populate the setting with NPCs, creatures, or other inhabitants. Determine their roles, motivations, and relationships within the setting. Consider how they interact with the players and how their presence enhances the overall atmosphere and narrative.
- Create Points of Interest: Create points of interest within the setting that provide opportunities for exploration, interaction, or discovery. These could be hidden treasures, ancient ruins, mysterious artifacts, or intriguing NPCs. Consider how these points of interest can engage the players and contribute to the session's narrative.
- Incorporate Lore and History: Develop the lore and history of the setting. Consider its backstory, legends, and notable events that have shaped the current state of affairs. This will add depth and richness to the setting, providing a sense of history and intrigue for the players.
- Visualize the Setting: Use visual aids, such as maps or artwork, to bring the setting to life. Create a visual representation of the key locations and important elements within the setting. This will help the players visualize the environment and immerse themselves in the game world.
By designing a unique and immersive setting, you'll provide a captivating backdrop for your one-shot session. The setting will contribute to the overall atmosphere and enhance the players' engagement and immersion. It will offer opportunities for exploration, interaction, and storytelling, making the session more memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved.

2023.05.31 23:59 SoundForMore iOS - K-Devices Tatat Midi FX - Tutorial and Demo (Giveaway in the video description)
iOS - K-Devices Tatat Midi FX - Tutorial and Demo (Giveaway in the video description)
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/tatat-midi-streams-generatoid6449191050 TATAT is a MIDI FX designed to create always-changing sequences, to quickly sketch music ideas, to add unexpected events to fixed patterns
If you're looking for new ways of generating musical ideas, then look no further than TATAT! Set up your parameters, define a mood and listen to an endless flow of notes which you can then record, tweak, and play along to.
HOW IT WORKS
TATAT generates infinite and always changing sequences of notes.
You cannot say exactly what TATAT will do, but you can suggest a path to it: by setting up its parameters you can create what we call a mood for TATAT. A mood is a configuration of notes, intervals, time fragmentation, velocity fluctuation, and other factors.
Once you set a mood that you are happy with, you'll listen to an infinite stream of events, always changing, all staying in the mood.
At this point, according to your needs, you can: - Let TATAT play its stream, and make some intervention to control it: to add silence (Less), to obtain smooth accelerando and ritardando (Ratio), to control how TATAT generates intervals. You can enable Key In function to change notes on the fly. - Add some stability by controlling/automating the Liv/Mem slider, moving between the generated stream and frozen patterns. - Use TATAT to send its notes to enrich (by enabling Thru) existing/incoming MIDI data/parts.
TATAT gives you excellent results both with melodic/harmonic and percussive parts!
MULTIPLE TIME RES /I/ Set chance for each time resolution to rule the stream, and scale results with main ratio to create organic time fluctuations.
NOTES /I Set chance for each notes to get triggered, enable the keys toggle to change the notes on the fly, giving a different color to the stream.
DOUBLE HIT /// Set two intervals and the probability they got triggered, adding harmonic weight to the stream.
LET'S PROCESS THE STREAM! /// You can process the generated notes with several parameters: add a velocity variation, a delay, set the length, randomize, and mute some notes. It's easy and intuitive.
FLOW VS PATTERN /// LIV/MEM parameter has a 0-100% range. When is set on 0%, a buffer with given length continuously records the stream; when it's different than 0%, the buffer got locked, and you set the chance to get live or buffered notes. When you set 100% you always have the buffer content as a static pattern. You add the stability you want to the lunatic stream!
2 FLAVOURS: DARK AND LIGHT SKIN
*** Please note: TATAT is an Audio Unit extension (AUv3) - it only works in an AUv3 host app compatible with MIDI FX
The video covers the following:
- Introduction to the User Interface and controls
- How to change presets
- How to set probability to play different timings, pitch notes, and bichords
- How to randomise velocity playing, notes played and notes length
- How to add delay and randomise it
- How to use the live and memory feature to play buffer of notes recorded
- How to use Tatat to drive a synth
- How to use Tatat to drive a drum machine
- Etc.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial and find it useful.

2023.05.31 23:43 raidragun how to find a job with a good balance for me
I've been thinking about this a lot as I'm kind of struggling with the conditions in my current job. I work in a factory which is great for job security, decent pay, and has routines, but I'm having a hard time with the long hours (I have to work at least 40 hrs a week, Monday thru Friday, and at least once a month mandatory or on the weekend. Sometimes this is just Saturday, sometimes it's Saturday and Sunday, and sometimes it's multiple weeks in a row leaving no time to decompress and take care of other things. I've done research into jobs that are good for autistic people, a lot of them seem to require math and I'm pretty terrible at math. I'm decent at patterns and processes, I've gotten the opportunity to run a few machines and I feel that helped me out, but the math has always been difficult. Sometimes decimals confuse me, it's that bad. It's harder than I'd like to admit to remember numbers, much less do math in my head. I also really don't want to work directly with people. I'm not the best at masking and costumer service jobs have burnt me out in the past. I also don't think I could work in an office environment becuase, for some reason, I've always been bad at typing of all things. This is actually very frustrating. Using my phone is easy but I've never been good with a keyboard. All this being said. I really don't know what my options are for skills I can make a comfortable wage on. Where I am right now is doable but I have a lot of dread and the money is just enough to make bills

2023.05.31 23:37 AustralianChrono Chronologica's Drag Race Season 4: Episode 6- World Snatch Game Lip Sync
DRAG RACE! Chronologica struts the runway wearing a lace lingerie set, with long, blonde hair.
Hello world! Welcome to Drag Race. German Expressionist Painter Hugo Lang, are you ready for the Snatch Game? Hugo gasps.
Hugo cannot speak, as he is currently doing an art project. Hugo nods.
“The fuck?” Rachelle says.
Rachelle, this is your 4th Snatch Game, how does it feel?! “Amazing.” Rachelle grins.
Floss Michaels, who would you play in the Snatch Game? “RuPaul!” Floss cheers.
Ahh, my good friend. Floss nods. “Mine too, baby.”
For our Challenge, our racers were tasked with competing in the SNATCH GAME! And on the runway, they’ll be wearing Disco Legend looks. It’s TIME! ~
Category is… Disco Legend! Aguacate does the hustle down the runway, wearing a sparkling purple slip-on dress. With golden accessories, including sparkling shoes, earrings, and a belt, she is the queen of this disco party. And her sick moves only prove this!
Hugo does a thumbs up.
Haja Hubiani enters the stage in a big afro with a golden chain that spells out “DRAG”, white corset and gold bell bottoms, with white and golden bracelets and a whole lotta disco moves as she shakes and shimmies through the stage.
“Look at that Southern Belle bottom!” Floss cackles.
Jaslene Bangus wears a pretty little mini dress that looks as if it is made of disco balls themselves, a gorgeous little thing that shows off all of her body, with brown hair that nearly hits the floor and a matching pair of heels.
“She’s ready to do some…?” Rachelle laughs. “I can’t say that on camera.”
Granny Gorgeous arrives straight out of the 70s, wearing a gold bodysuit that’s covered in glitter. She’s got a flared pant, with the words ‘Granny’ sprinkled in white writing, and big fluffy hair that really adds to her look with a smile.
Granny at the disco, baby! Yasmin pokes her head onto the runway from around the corner, revealing her perky blonde bob, pink headband, and chunky white Ray Bans, grinning. Then she “Soul Trains” onto the runway, revealing that she is in her element in a stunningly patterned, pink, white and black mini-dress with alternating checkerboard and flower designs, paired with chunky black and pink wedge heels.
“Pretty in pink.” Rachelle adds.
Crayola Boxx enters the stage in a huge silver cloak that glitters as she walks through the runway. She’s got a big, big wig that she combs as she walks through the stage, strutting and twirling around.
Hugo puts his thumbs down.
Referencing Sylvester, King Omari Star has frizzy shoulder length hair and a firm gaze. He’s got a yellow jumpsuit, with various cut-out sections as he stomps through the stage with platinum boots, and he’s ready to dance, baby!
You make me feel MIGHTY real. Zazu walks out with a sleek and fitted jumpsuit in a shimmery silver fabric, adorned with sequins, and a dramatic and voluminous wig in long and flowing dark hair and feathered layers, chunky chains and a bold pendant as she has a big smile upon her face.
“Metallic princess.” Floss smiles.
Fiore Stravaganza has long, gorgeous blonde hair and enters on a white horse, flung by the pit crew. She’s got a sleek metallic bodysuit, and the judges gasp as she trots through on her white horse.
Hugo gasps.
~
Hi Racers. I’ve made some decisions. King Omari Star. Granny Gorgeous. Jaslene Bangus. Please step forward. You are…. Safe. The three nod.
You may untuck in the platinum lounge. The three enter the lounge.
King Omari Star: “I am safe, which is… fine. It is still a solid placement, nonetheless.” King Omari grabs a drink, before handing another to Granny and Jaslene.
“Look at you, a true gentlemen.” Jaslene smirks.
“Thank you, Omari.” Granny smiles.
“Gentlemen?” Omari raises an eyebrow.
“You’re all stilted, specific and always intentional with your words.” Jaslene says. “Specific, like a real gentleman.”
Omari takes a sip of his drink and leans back, crossing his legs and giving Jaslene a side-eye.
“Well, Jaslene, I do pride myself on being intentional with my words. It's important to communicate effectively, don't you think?" Omari responds.
Jaslene rolls her eyes dramatically.
"Oh, honey, communication isn't the issue here. It's about having fun! Drag is all about letting loose, being expressive, and embracing the joy of performance. Sometimes, it looks like you're not being real." Jaslene sips her drink.
"Being real? I assure you, I am fully committed to my craft. I may not express it in the same flamboyant manner as some, but that doesn't mean I'm not having fun." Omari looks on, slightly annoyed.
Jaslene smirks and takes a sip of her drink. "Darling, there's more to drag than just technique and precision. It's about connecting with the audience, letting them see the fire within you. When you portray someone like Nelson Mandela, for example, it's essential to embody his spirit, his charisma. But sometimes, you come across as... well, a bit icy."
Omari scoffs. "Icy? That's not how I see myself. I strive for authenticity in my performances. If I'm playing a historical figure, I want to honor them and bring their essence to the stage."
"Jaslene has a point, dear. I feel like it is important to embrace, that it's okay to let go, to allow yourself to feel the energy and excitement of the crowd. Drag is about self-expression, and that includes embracing the fun and spontaneity of the art form." Granny grins.
King Omari Star: “I am having fun with drag. I…” Omari purses his lips. “I don’t see it.” “This isn’t meant to hurt.” Granny puts her hand on Omari’s leg.
“I mean…” Jaslene chuckles.
“I just…” Omari looks flustered. “Have never heard that.”
“You have now.” Jaslene shrugs.
Omari nods.
Jaslene Bangus: “I’m just here to deliver facts.” Jaslene shrugs. ~
You represent the tops and bottoms of the week. Starting with… Crayola. Crayola waves with a smile on her face.
“I really wanted to like this.” Rachelle says. “But… this Elmo was rough.”
Crayola gulps.
“Simply put, it did come across like you were… cringy. I wanted to see a lot more then what you were doing. You hit all the wrong nerves, for me.” Rachelle responds.
“I did want to go outside of my box, as directed.” Crayola looks at the judges.
Well, not like this. I wanted to see you go outside of the box. Elmo wasn’t that. Crayola frustratingly nods.
Fiore. Fiore smiles.
You didn’t go outside the box… and in this instance, it worked. Fiore looks proudly.
It was hilarious, it was campy, it was a real talented showcase and truly, I was living. “Thank you.”
I want to say, you’re showing up and deliver. Keep it up. I also love, love, love these looks. Fiore nods. “I will.”
Zazu. “Hiya.” Zazu waves.
“I know Charlize. This was not Charlize.” Rachelle says.
“You know Charlize Theron?!” Zazu gasps.
Rachelle looks at Zazu.
…
“It was just a strange portrayal. I feel as if you were not delivering where I needed you to be, because I was hoping- wow, a nuanced portrayal but you were appealing to the lowest common denominator.” Rachelle responds. “It was bad.”
Zazu nods. “I’m sorry.”
Yasmin. “Hiya!” Yasmin smiles.
“I loved this choice.” Floss grins. “You know I am a top chef myself.”
“Tops unite!” Yasmin cheers.
Floss chuckles.
“It was a real charming choice, and I do feel like you’ve come here and really begun to show yourself.” Floss nods.
Yasmin tears up. “Fabulousities.”
Floss laughs. “You okay?”
“I feel like… people who see me often don’t get me. They think I don’t have anything behind me, that I am just a silly little Drag artist who loves to cook. And that is me. But being here, I feel seen.” Yasmin clutches her chest as Floss smiles. “Thank you.”
“Those bitches are dumb.” Floss laughs.
Yasmin chuckles.
Haja. Haja looks on nervously.
I really wanted you to slay this. And sadly… you bombed. Haja nods.
There was a lack of humor, of wit, of comedy- the portrayal was off, and I feel as if you were trying too hard- not in the right way, either. “I really wanted to show myself. Because I am…” Haja tears up.
Fiore looks over.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Are we all crying this week? Oh Dio.” Fiore sips her drink. “I never cry.” “Really wanting to be here. And I hope you see that.” Haja says. “Because, I am a fighter.”
I’m going to need you to show it, because I will say to you now, you will be up for elimination. Haja looks concerned for a second, then nods.
Aguacate! “I promise I will not cry.” Aguacate laughs.
Aguacate: “I am not a LOSER!” Hugo mouths the word ‘Star’.
Aguacate smiles.
Hugo holds up a picture of Aguacate with a plus sign on it.
“It was a masterclass in drag.” Rachelle responds.
“Thank you very much.” Aguacate nods.
Thank you, racers. Whilst we deliberate, you may untuck backstage in the Crystal Lounge, sponsored by Princess Papaya Tropical Drinks. ~
The racers enter the Crystal Lounge.
“Drinks time…” Aguacate smiles. “My favorite part.”
Yasmin, Haja, Zazu, and Crayola make their way to the lounge, all looking emotional.
Yasmin wipes away a tear, her voice trembling. "I just can't believe I finally feel seen. This competition means so much to me, you know? To be recognized… it's everything."
Fiore looks over uncomfortably.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Are we doing this again?” Haja sniffles, her eyes glistening with tears. "I wanted to prove myself, to show everyone that I have what it takes. But now... I'm worried. I don't want to be up for elimination."
Crayola, sitting next to Haja, puts a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't worry, Haja. We all have our off days. It doesn't define who you are as a queen. You're talented, and you'll bounce back. Just keep believing in yourself."
Zazu bursts into tears.
Fiore and Aguacate stare.
"I... I just wanted to prove that I'm not dumb, you know? People always think I'm stupid because I'm ditzy, but I really worked hard on this challenge. And now... now I feel like a failure, too.." Zazu says, wiping her eyes.
Yasmin pulls Zazu into a hug. "Oh, sweetie, you are not a failure at all. Look at how far you've come already. You have a heart full of passion and a spirit that shines. Don't let anyone's judgments define you. We all believe in you, Zazu." Yasmin smiles.
“I feel stressed.” Crayola says. “I feel as if I am giving my heart and soul, and I don’t know how to deliver my brand, because they’re not…” Crayola exhales, her eyes welling with tears.
Fiore Stravaganza: "Emotions won't get you far in this competition. It's about talent, strategy, and staying focused on the prize. Crying won't change the outcome." “This is a lot.” Aguacate rolls her eyes playfully. "Alright, enough with the sob fest, my darlings. Let me tell you a little story to lighten the mood."
Everyone turns to look at Aguacate.
"One time, I was dating this guy," Aguacate begins with a mischievous grin. "And I found out he cheated on me. Now, most people would just break up and move on, but not me. I decided to take matters into my own hands."
Crayola raises her eyebrows.
"I faked my death." Aguacate continues dramatically. "And then for a whole week, I would knock on his door with ghost makeup on, crying, acting as if I was haunting him!”
Yasmin bursts into laughter, followed by the others. Even Fiore can't help but crack a smile.
"Oh, Aguacate, you never fail to surprise us." Yasmin grins, wiping away her tears of laughter. "You certainly have a unique way of dealing with things."
Aguacate shrugs. "Well, darling, life is too short to dwell on negativity. I prefer to add a little spice and drama to it. Plus, it taught that guy a lesson he'll never forget."
Haja smiles. "You're right, Aguacate. We shouldn't let our setbacks define us. We're strong, talented queens, and we'll bounce back from this."
Zazu sniffles, wiping her tears away. "I guess... I just need to remember that I'm more than what others perceive me to be. I can be ditzy and passionate and still excel in this competition."
"You're absolutely right, Zazu. We all have unique qualities that make us special. We just need to stay true to ourselves and keep pushing forward." Crayola nods.
The safe racers enter the werkroom.
“How are you, my sister?” Jaslene smiles, looking at Fiore. “How are you going?”
“These girls…” Fiore gulps. “They’re too much.”
Jaslene cackles.
~
Welcome back, racers. I’ve made some decisions. Fiore, well done this week. You’re… safe. Fiore grins.
Yasmin Raiz, keep it up. You’re… safe. Yasmin bows.
Aguacate. Aguacate shimmies a little.
This week, you made us laugh, you made us cheer, and we ATE. IT. UP. Condragulations, you are the winner of this week’s challenge. Aguacate smiles as everyone claps for her.
Aguacate: “Look at me! I am a CHAMPION!” …
…
Crayola, you’re safe. Crayola exhales sharply. “Thank you so much.”
That means Haja Hubiani and Zazu Nova, I’m sorry my dears, but you are up for elimination. The time has come… for you to lip sync to your life! **Your Disco Needs You by Kylie Minogue starts to play**
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqtzMue6Izw Good luck… and don’t fuck it up! Zazu Nova: “I love to perform. I want this, so bad… and I am giving everything.” Haja Hubiani: “I know I can survive this. There’s no other option.” ~
Next Time!
Racers, it’s time to HOST YOUR OWN FESTIVAL! “...Don’t you love this idea?” Jaslene looks at Fiore, wearing a huge hat.
“No.” Fiore responds.
I need you to have fun with it, Omari. King Omari Star: “Don’t I look like I am having fun?!” “Will you marry me?” Aguacate looks at Granny, who screams.

2023.05.31 23:03 raceyouthere Looking for Taylor Swift inspired earring ideas
| I’m really into making earrings at the moment and have been inspired by a lot of TS lyrics/outfits (see my anti-hero inspired earrings). Whatever pair I end up liking the most will likely influence whatever I end up wearing in LA. And maybe the ones I don’t will be the “friendship bracelets” I trade at the show. So far I’ve made Lover, 22 and Lavender Haze inspired earrings and I have some ideas for more when I get a chance to get back at them! What are some outfits/lyrics you think would be fun? submitted by raceyouthere to TaylorSwift [link] [comments] |
2023.05.31 23:02 Neither_Warning_6468 Trading Psychology
I know you may going through a tough time, and I wanted to talk to you about something that might help. Trading psychology is something that can have a significant impact on your overall trading success. It's not just about numbers and charts; it's about understanding and managing your emotions while making investment decisions.
You see, trading can be an emotional roller coaster. It's a constant battle between fear and greed, excitement and anxiety. When the market is in your favor, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement and make impulsive decisions based on greed. But when things go south, fear takes over, clouding your judgment and leading to poor choices.
Managing your emotions is crucial because it helps you stay disciplined and focused on your long-term goals. It's all about finding the right balance between being optimistic and cautious. Emotions can make you second-guess yourself, doubt your strategies, and even cause you to abandon a well-thought-out plan. But if you can learn to control your emotions and make rational decisions based on analysis and research, you'll have a better chance of success.
Remember, trading psychology is not something you can master overnight. It takes time, patience, and practice. But by becoming more aware of your emotions and how they affect your trading decisions, you can start making progress. Don't be too hard on yourself when you make mistakes or encounter losses; they're all part of the learning process.
Take breaks when you need them, talk to other traders or mentors who have gone through similar experiences, and develop a routine that helps you stay calm and focused. Journaling your trades and reflecting on your emotions can also provide valuable insights into your own thought patterns and help you make necessary adjustments.
Ultimately, trading is as much about managing your psychology as it is about understanding the markets. So be kind to yourself, embrace the learning journey, and remember that even the most successful traders have faced their fair share of challenges. With time, persistence, and a healthy dose of self-awareness, I have no doubt that you'll conquer this hurdle and come out stronger on the other side.

2023.05.31 22:57 Sharinganprincess91 [F4M] Fandom Roleplay. Looking for more partners. (Super freaking bored and looking 🙃😞)
Side note: I've added a password, so read carefully. If you message me WITHOUT the password, your messages are automatically IGNORED. tired of getting hit up with people who don't read 😒. It's ridiculous cause I've ignored 5+ chats cause none of them contained the password. Things are written for a reason.
Facts about me:
- I have been roleplaying since 2012. Yes, I got experience under my belt, and yes, my ideas usually have really long reads, but don't let that scare you off! After the starter is off, I may lower myself down to a decent paragraph or two, sometimes three! It all depends on what I've got to work with.
- My timezone is EST. I'm awake from 9am - 2am and I'm usually free unless I'm busy doing house chores, out of the house, asleep, or playing video games on my switch. I'm usually become REALLY active at or around 8pm.
Rules:
1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).
6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.
End Note:
Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. I'm just trying to get my point across and roleplay. I'm a very easy going person who loves to make friends on the side (which I've somewhat given up on making friends...only a selective few have actually gained my friendship).
Do not hop into my inbox with a simple 'hey' 'hi' 'sup', etc and for God's sake, don't message me with a 'rp?'and proceed me to flash me with your talliwhacker. I promise you, you'll get your feelings hurt and I'll be here laughing at ya 😂. Nobody wants a peen on their screen. Do not send me an image of your one eyed noodle. Thank you. The password is pineapple.

2023.05.31 22:51 _Ninza_ Another EU West MM Rant (PLEASE READ)
For what i know, ranking up is just a myth in this game, literally can't climb without playing 1000 games a season in soloduo.
I started to play heca in jungle because he feels broken in low elo (silver - gold)
won like 10 games in a row and had 58% winrate, so for now i was like silver1 almost in promos.
next 20 games i get braindead teammates, even afking or just pingin at level3 to gank or they start to grief or mute me
Riot is not even hiding it at this point, ive tried playing solo duo every season but i just stop and play flex with my friends because that's where you can actually kinda climb.
They should award you for winning and not making you lose forcefully.
I feel like there is an easy to see pattern and change in the game when you get put into losers que
i even get no LP loss mitigated if my teammates leave at like 10 minutes, but my duo does get it because they are at 50% winrate, can someone explain how that's even a feature in the game?
that you get punished for someone leaving the game early
Is there any veteran lol players who know how to counter this?

2023.05.31 22:51 AslandusTheLaster Lawrence Knight and the Holy Order of the Purging Light
Original prompt: [WP] You're a holy knight who can see when something has good intentions. This is causing you great confusion when you meet a demon you've been sent to kill. (
link)
Lawrence Knight descended the staircase slowly. He had no doubt, his quarry was here. Strangely, the levels of malignancy were far lower than expected, especially given who he was hunting. The demon, classified as a Schemer, had apparently been around for a while and been behind a fair few Fallen-folk.
As he reached the end of the stairs, there was only one door. A final look through the darkened lenses of his morality specs showed exactly one evil person in the next room. No doubt the demon was plotting on tricking some poor innocent person into selling their soul. Schemers could be quite conniving when given a chance to think, so Lawrence had to strike fast and hard.
Lawrence pulled a stick of incense out of the pocket of his suit, holding it between his lips and lighting it to ward off mental incursions. Then he brandished his pistol. The handle was emblazoned with a silver cross, and the words "Psalm 23:4" were engraved into the outside of the barrel. Saying a final prayer under his breath, the knight kicked in the door, pointing and firing his gun directly at the evil he'd scoped out through his specs.
Sitting behind a desk was a six foot three, red-skinned man with a pair of curled horns coming out of his head. That man was not the one who got shot, Lawrence instead hitting the young man sitting across from him.
"Tim! No!" The horned man said as his client collapsed to the ground. Despite his monstrous appearance, the specs didn't show even a flash of ill intent.
"Hold fast, beast," Lawrence said. In a flash, he whipped what appeared to be a silver snap bracelet out of his jacket, flinging it at the demon.
The horned man held up his arms defensively, and the bracelet easily latched on. He whimpered slightly as the silver paralyzed him, leaving the demonic figure propped at an uncomfortable angle in his chair while obviously panicking within his own head.
"Well, this is a grand mess. You should still be able to talk... Once you stop hyperventilating," Lawrence said, running a hand through his snow-white hair.
The demon made a visible effort to control its breathing and calm down, before speaking again, "Who are you? What do you want?"
"I'm an agent of the Holy Order of the Purging Light. We destroy the unholy, the infernal, and the malign. Unfortunately for you, you are... at least one of those," Lawrence said, pulling down the darkened lenses of his glasses to glare at the demon with his glowing gold eyes.
"What? But I just make people's wishes come true! I'm doing good!" the demon said.
Lawrence sighed. He hated having to put down targets if they didn't even know why, but he also knew it was dangerous to play around with Schemers. After a moment, he said, "In accordance with our creed, you are a corrupting influence on this world, and a danger to any and all clients you have encountered. Think of what damage they have wrought, and the suffering they have endured that they never would have felt if they'd never met you."
"B-but they all seemed like they needed help! Like that lady who just needed a bunch of money! Or this kid who just wanted a girl to like him!" the demon said.
"'That' lady? Do you, perchance, mean this lady?" Lawrence asked, pulling out his cell phone and opening up pictures of a woman he'd encountered in a previous mission.
"That's her! Ruby's a sweetheart, she definitely wouldn't cause any mischief," the demon said.
Lawrence began flipping through the pictures. Early photos depicted her wearing a fancy coat and clearly having a good time with what seemed like some friends. A few photos later showed her screaming at employees working at the club she was visiting. Eventually he reached the more unpleasant pictures, with her beating people with a cane. Though the photos didn't show who, the knight specifically remembered they were the same people she'd been hanging out with earlier, and at least one of them had ended up in the hospital. They might not have survived if he hadn't intervened, but he switched off the screen on his phone before reaching the photos confirming the Fallen woman's death.
"What- But she seemed so sad..." the demon said.
"And I don't know about this young man..." Lawrence said, digging through the pockets of the client whose brains he had blown out. He managed to find the boy's phone, which didn't have any sort of lock to keep him out. "Ah, how lucky."
He began invading the boy's privacy, and found a series of photos that were presumably the young woman. Given the context and angles of the photos, it appeared the young man had been stalking his object of affections, and the photos appeared to go back several months. More disturbingly, several of them were of the young woman at home, and there were many that were clearly cropped to remove some other person that had seemingly been in the frame with her, and from the way she seemed to lean on them they were most likely a romantic partner. The Knight was confident that his specs didn't make mistakes, but killing humans was always messy business, so it was good to get confirmation.
"Does this look like a healthy, wholesome relationship in the making?" Lawrence asked, showing the demon the photos.
"I... Uh..." the demon said.
"I could bring up the other five people we know of that you've empowered, or the dozens of others you've probably made deals with that we don't know about, but I think this has gone far enough. Goodnight, Schemer," Lawrence said, pointing his gun at the demon's forehead.
"Wait! No! If you do that I'll be sent back to hell as a normal, mortal soul!" the demon said. "No second chances, no special privileges for being a demon! Just torment! Please, let me help fix this!"
Lawrence pulled back his pistol, and let out another sigh. He was a Knight of the Purging light, but they were a christian order. He couldn't very well kill someone seeking redemption, and his morality specs did tell him that the demon was earnest in his desire to help... Even if he clearly wasn't the brightest light on the tree.
Still, he didn't have the supplies for a banishment, nor any way to ensure the demon would actually do any due diligence... No, there was only one way it could work, and he needed authorization for it. Lawrence went over to his contact list and made a call. The signal was surprisingly decent considering he was in a basement.
"Lawrence? Is this an emergency? You know the rules about calling while on a mission," asked the voice of Sophia Knight. Though they were not literal siblings, joining the order involved giving up your born name to be reborn as a Knight.
"My holy power is active and I've still got an hour left on this incense stick, Sister, I'd be as shocked as you if I'm being influenced. However, I've got a... potential redemption in the making," Lawrence said.
"Hm... Iffy business, especially since your target is a Schemer," Sophia said. "But you know the risks and the protocol. Plus, I trust your judgement. You're authorized for purified containment."
"Thank you, Sister," Lawrence said, being careful not to say her name in front of the demon. It never hurt to be careful. "Good news, Schemer, I've been cleared to keep you alive."
"Really? Then can you take this armband off me?" the demon asked.
"Soon," I said. "First I need your name."
The demon's eyes widened with surprise and he said, "What? But if I give you my name, then-"
"Then I will have power over you, yes," Lawrence said. "I'm well aware of what I'm asking."
"This doesn't sound like forgiveness," the demon said.
"That's because it's not. You're an aberration, a corruption on this world. Your very nature means that you cannot help but cause destruction, and it is my job to eradicate you. I am offering you an alternative, to live on inside a talisman that I will seal you in, which will prevent you from damaging the world further than you already have, and hopefully give you the chance to set things right," Lawrence said. "The old 'deal with the devil' doesn't feel great from other side, does it?"
The demon paused for a moment before saying, "Can you at least-"
"No, I'll tell you my name when you are safely sealed away. Not a moment before," Lawrence said. He held his pistol up, pointing it at the demon's head. "If it's too much to ask, we can always do this the standard way."
"Syritsil," the demon said.
"Thank you, Syritsil," Lawrence said. He quickly checked his pockets for something he could use as a talisman... And swore under his breath.
The only things he had were a phone, a wallet, a set of car keys and a locket. The phone was out of the question, far too much the demon could get up to with an internet connection. The wallet was an option, but far too plain to be a useful one. Too easy to lose it or have it stolen, and there wasn't really any way to keep Syritsil as an asset if he couldn't communicate. The keys would just be stupid, the deformation from being possessed would make them useless and Lawrence did have to drive home.
That left the locket. Inside was a picture of Lawrence's brother, the one who'd Fallen after meeting with a demon. He definitely didn't want to risk it, the potential of losing the one last connection he had with his old life was an upsetting one, but it was objectively the best talisman. The silver body of the locket had even been engraved with holy symbols already, which would drastically improve how well it contained the corruption.
Lawrence sighed before taking out the locket and pressing it against Syritsil's head, right between his horns.
"Syritsil. From the powers down below, did you rise into our world. By the powers up above, would you be purged from it... But by the powers vested in me, you will be sealed away. From this day forward, you will cause no trouble, harm no mortals, and stake no claims, lest your soul be forfeit. You will reside within this talisman, and only within the talisman may your power manifest. So says I," Lawrence said.
"And I agree," Syitsil said. Immediately, the demon disappeared in a puff of smoke, and the silver bracelet fell to the floor.
Lawrence popped open the locket to check... Yes, the picture of his brother was still intact. However, Syritsil was now standing next to his brother within the frame, posing with an arm over his shoulder and throwing up a peace sign.
"Well, that's done. Can you hear me?" Lawrence asked.
"As well as could be expected," Syritsil said. "So what's first on the agenda?"
"First we need to check back in with base, and you need to share as much as you remember about your clients... Oh, and before I forget: the name's Lawrence. Nice to meet you," the knight said.

2023.05.31 22:46 PM_ME_LAWN_GNOMES My Sister, Her Failing Marriage, An Old Friend, and the Green Beast
Hey everyone,
I have a lot going on and just needed a place to unload. This might not make complete sense, but here goes.
My sister, let's call her Lisa, has always been one to jump headlong into the next "big thing." Over the years, this trait of hers has led her to make decisions that could be described as risky at best, disastrous at worst. Stories for other times, other places.
Her latest venture? A MLM company, the kind that promises easy money while you drain your bank account buying overpriced powders and shakes. Their color of choice is green, if you get my drift. Here's the kicker, though. Her husband, Mike, is an old friend of mine. We go way back. And now, Lisa's recent entanglement has put Mike and me in a complex web of strained friendships and bruised family ties.
Mike, of course, is frustrated. Lisa's MLM involvement is straining their relationship. Their children are caught in the crossfire, and it's heartbreaking to see. I see a family that's slowly being torn apart by the false promises of easy riches and a "better life."
The irony of the situation is, in trying to be there for Mike, I've become the villain in some people's eyes. Can a woman and man not share a deep friendship without others crying foul? What is this, the 1950s? It's a painful position to be in, being unable to offer more than sympathetic words and helpless concern, while your actions are misconstrued.
I'm just lost and don't know what to do. How do you navigate such a tricky situation? How do you save a family from self-destruction? How do you protect an old friendship while defending your intentions?
Thanks for listening, I just needed to get that off my chest. If you've got any wisdom to spare, I could use it right now.
TL;DR: My sister's MLM involvement is causing strain on her marriage with my old friend, and my attempts to help are just complicating things further. I'm not sure how to navigate this situation.
