2023.03.24 06:25 fruffymuffy Taking a huge 5th wheel, advice and recommendations pls

Hey all, we are coming in a big 5th wheel. Staying in Acorn with 50amp power. Any advice or tips I should know before heading over? I'm guessimg they won't allow my inflatable hot tub. What about flags on a pole, lights, drinking and music? Also, I can't leave Seattle Tip noon so I'm wondering if I should be concerned about getting a spot. Do we have in and out priveleedges?
Thanks in advance! I may have extra beds. It's my 2022 Jayco that sleeps 10. I know only 6 can come in with the rv.
Cheers

2023.03.24 06:08 myomlete Why does my front driver rotor get really hot?

2006 Acura TL Automatic
After a 20 minute drive in about 30 degree weather last Sunday I realized that my front driver side rotor was giving off some smoke when I parked. I touched my wheel and it was pretty warm (obviously did not touch the HOT rotor, but I did throw some water on it and it sizzled), so I checked my other wheels and they were all cool to the touch. I did an oil change on Tuesday and I also found out my driver side CV Axle Boot was ripped. I cleaned off all the grease thinking that was the reason why it was getting so hot, but after keeping tabs on it throughout the week I realized it's still getting hot.
I bought new brake pads and rotors for the fronts already because I figured it's time I swap them out even though they look alright. Is this possibly a warped rotor issue? I drive mostly highway miles and I also have a heavy foot, so I brake quite a bit. Also, the brakes definitely don't bite like how they used to and I do feel that I slightly pull more to the left when I'm braking. My steering wheel also vibrates a bit when coming to a stop as well. Could also possibly be a caliper issue, but I won't know until I take everything off to do my brakes. All my calipers are about a year and a half old. What do you guys think the issue is?

2023.03.24 05:37 GTAhomes-canada Understanding the Risks and Rewards of Pre-Construction Assignment Sale in Brampton

Understanding the Risks and Rewards of Pre-Construction Assignment Sale in Brampton
Pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton is becoming increasingly popular among investors and homebuyers. In this article, we will discuss the risks and rewards of investing in pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton.
https://preview.redd.it/lfws9z7y7mpa1.png?width=400&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d4f1af833325d8a1b024c24377b69cdf0377659
Pre-construction assignment sale is a relatively new concept in Brampton, Ontario. It involves buying a home or condo before it is built, then assigning the contract to another buyer before the construction is finished. This type of sale provides an opportunity for investors and homebuyers to get into the real estate market at a lower cost than purchasing on the open market.
When considering pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton, it is important to understand the risks and rewards associated with this type of investment. First, there is the risk of the developer not completing the project on time or within budget. If this happens, the buyer of the pre-construction assignment sale will be left with a property that is not worth as much as they paid for it. There is also the risk of the developer not delivering the project as promised. This could mean that the buyer has to make significant changes to the property in order to make it suitable for their needs.
Additionally, there is the risk of the market conditions changing during the construction period. If the market is in a downturn when the property is completed, the value of the property may be significantly lower than what was paid for it. There is also the risk of the market being too hot when the property is completed, meaning the buyer can end up paying too much for the property.
On the other hand, pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton also have its rewards. The biggest benefit of this type of sale is that it provides buyers with an opportunity to get into the real estate market at a lower cost than purchasing on the open market. Additionally, the buyer can make a profit if the market conditions improve during the construction period. This is because the value of the property is likely to increase as the construction progresses.
Furthermore, pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton provides buyers with the opportunity to customize their property. Buyers can choose the type of property they want, the layout, and the finishes. This is beneficial for investors as they can tailor the property to their needs and maximize the potential return on their investment.
In conclusion, pre-construction assignment sale in Brampton is an attractive option for investors and homebuyers. However, it is important to understand the risks and rewards associated with this type of sale before making a decision. By being aware of the potential risks and rewards, buyers can make an informed decision on whether pre-construction assignment sale is the right choice for them.

2023.03.24 05:33 Miss99problems Is tall poppy syndrome (when it comes to salary / finances) prevalent among your friends / family?

TLDR: I (25F) am about to start a new job that pays roughly $180k (approx. 100K more than what I earned 1.5 years ago) and I’m wondering if I should keep this news to myself?
Firstly, apologies if this is quite long as it is my first time posting on reddit and this is obviously a throwaway account. I (25F) am about to start a new job that pays a bit over $180k, I understand that this is a lot of money for a young person and I’m petrified of telling my friends / family members because I don’t know how they will react.
To provide some context around my situation, I come from a low-income household (only one parent worked, constantly struggling to keep afloat, parents took out multiple credit cards to pay for food and utilities etc.) and growing up, I could see that money (or lack thereof) was always at the forefront of my parent’s minds. I always had to help out financially and I knew that in order to escape that cycle, I had to work hard and earn a solid salary myself, so I didn’t have to rely on anyone else to provide for me. Despite some initial resistance and judgement from my family and friends, I decided to pursue a ‘unique/unconventional’ degree that I was passionate about, i.e. not business, law, medicine, commerce, engineering etc. and I guess that has paid off immensely as I found it easy to pursue roles that I’m passionate about and hence, my current dilemma.
My closest group of friends are very diverse, they come from all sorts of financial backgrounds (from housing commission to trust fund kids) and cultures. This means that they all view the concept of money differently, some save every penny while others blow through everything. However, recently I have noticed that my family and friends are starting to exhibit signs of tall poppy syndrome i.e. now that they all have full-time jobs, they are constantly trying to judge, criticise or one-up each other. However, this is only targeted at those who are in much better positions than themselves. It started off as small digs but it’s gotten to the point that I never share any of my achievements (career or otherwise) and I find myself downplaying my own financial situation in order to better empathise with them.
Now the reason I am contemplating telling my family and friends is because I want to help them through some tough situations, lots of them have a warped understanding of the economy / money, and are financially illiterate, hence why their personal finances are dire. I know that if I start giving them advice as someone ‘in the same situation as them’, they won’t listen to me and they will think I’m just full of hot air. But if they know that I’ve advanced so far in my career at such a young age and earn X amount, I know they will listen to my advice (and before anyone comes at me, I’ve already tried suggesting that they see financial advisors, documenting their income vs expenses, pulling back on discretionary spending, educating themselves etc. but to no avail). I have so many questions – has anyone been in a similar situation before, how would you handle this situation, should I not bother at all
?

2023.03.24 05:28 bacalaito_frito Horizontal lines on 2019 MacBook Pro

So I have a 16-inch 2019 Big Sue MacBook Pro that was purchased two years ago with the Intel core i9 processor. About two days ago, I downloaded Origin so that I could play Sims 4. It had been running fine until today. After a while of playing, my laptop was, of course, really hot and the cooling fans were loud. I wanted to save my game to give it a rest but it froze, and the cursor turned to the multicolor wheel. I tried exiting out or opening system preferences, but nothing. I shut the computer, but the screen would not turn off. When I opened it back up, thin green and pink horizontal lines appeared all over the screen. I was able to restart the laptop. I’m assuming this isn’t normal. Have any of you had this problem? Is it something I should worry about? I would have gotten a picture, but wasn’t able to as I was panicking.

2023.03.24 04:50 ImTotallyTechy Capacitive vs Clicky Pad Buttons?

Howdy folks, want you guys to sound off.
On the DDJ 1000 and XP2 (both of which I have) the hot cue buttons are capacitive, and don't actually depress or click. I just pre-ordered a FLX10, and noticed that it appears to have Clicky buttons like the rest of pioneers lineup.
What are the benefits of the DDJ 1000 style buttons? Frankly I can't think of many except responsiveness, and I'll be keeping my XP2 for drumming. As much as those buttons on the DDJ 1000 feel premium, I feel like they're easier to falsely trigger when directly below a jog wheel, and I've had a few (albeit not many) mixes messed up because a sleeve has brushed past the buttons and made enough contact.
As a DJ who extensively uses hot cues and pad modes, but has an XP2 for "drumming", is there anything I'll miss by reverting back to the old school style of buttons? I don't think so, but maybe I'm missing something and would love to know.

2023.03.24 03:58 _The_Crow_ Honda LB Works NSX-R In Depth - Season 176

Greetings, Reddit Ensemble!
The current's season Prestige Cup cars are the Honda LB Works NSX-R (Purple and Gold Star). They were initially introduced in season 163 (September 15, 2022 - September 29, 2022) (OTA Update 4.0.x) as Crew Season (Top 10 Crews) and Milestone (20M Crew RP milestone) Prize cars.
Both cars will need between 2 and 4 stage 6s in order to beat the Cup or you can get thru the Cup with all stage 6s, uncommon (green) and almost all rare (blue) fusions fitted. Don't forget to claim your free Prestige Cup crates in Rare Imports, but before doing so, claim the stage 6 from Race #28, to avoid duplicates.
The Honda LB Works NSX-R is an amazing tier 4 car, that will serve you well in live racing and in the Tempe5t challenges, but for Tempe5t, you will need to completely max the car. It's not only part, but is the fastest car for the current Championship ShowDown.
Honda NSX:
In 1984, Honda commissioned the Italian car styling house Pininfarina to design the concept car HP-X (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental), which had a C20A 2.0 L V6 engine in a mid-mounted configuration. After Honda committed to a sports car project, the company management informed the engineers working on the project that the new car would have to be as fast as anything coming from Italy and Germany. The HP-X concept car evolved into a prototype known as NS-X, which stood for "New", "Sportscar" "eXperimental".
Honda settled on a non-VTEC, 3.0-liter double overhead camshaft 24-valve V6 engine selected for the production model. This engine generated a maximum power output of about 250 hp (186 kW; 253 PS) and 282 N⋅m (208 lb⋅ft) of torque, with a redline of 7,300 rpm. However, at the same time, Honda was working on its revolutionary VTEC variable valve timing system, with plans to release it on the company's home-market 4-cylinder Integra. Honda's then-president Tadashi Kume, himself a highly skilled and respected engine designer, questioned the NS-X designers' logic in foregoing the VTEC system for Honda's new flagship sports car, while it was being used on the lower-market Integra. As a result, the engine was redesigned very late in the development process "to achieve the desired levels of performance and durability"; Honda designed a new cylinder block with 6-bolt main caps and larger cylinder heads to contain the complex VTEC mechanism. Innovative connecting rods made from a titanium alloy were used to lower reciprocating weight, while increasing overall rod-strength—something which increased the engine's maximum rpm by 700, resulting in a final redline of 8,000 rpm. A consequence of this last-minute engine change was that the new C30A engine was too large to fit in the NS-X's engine bay, which had been carefully sized for the smaller heads of the non-VTEC DOHC 3.0 liter engine. As a result, the engineers were forced to tilt the entire engine backward approximately 5 degrees- a characteristic that continued all the way to the NSX's final production in 2005.
The exterior design had been specifically researched by Uehara after studying the 360-degree visibility inside an F-16 fighter jet's cockpit. Thematically, the F-16 came into play in the exterior design as well as establishing the conceptual goals of the NSX. In the F-16 and other high performance aircraft such as unlimited hydroplanes along with open-wheel race cars, the cockpit is located far forward and in front of the power plant. This "cab-forward" layout was chosen to optimize visibility while the long tail design enhanced high speed directional stability. The NSX was designed to showcase several automotive technologies, many derived from Honda's F1 motor-sports program.
The NSX was the first production car to feature an all-aluminium semi-monocoque, incorporating a revolutionary extruded aluminium alloy frame and suspension components. The use of aluminium saved nearly 200 kg (441 lb) of weight over the use of steel in the body alone, while the aluminium suspension arms saved an additional 20 kg (44 lb); a suspension compliance pivot helped maintain wheel alignment changes at a near zero value throughout the suspension cycle. Other notable features included an independent, 4-channel anti-lock brake system; an electric power steering system; Honda's proprietary VTEC variable valve timing system and in 1995, the first electronic throttle control fitted in Honda production car.
With a robust motorsports division, Honda had significant development resources at its disposal and made extensive use of them. Respected Japanese Formula One driver Satoru Nakajima, for example, was involved with Honda in the NSX's early on-track development at Suzuka race circuit, where he performed many endurance distance duties related to chassis tuning. Brazilian Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna, who won many races in Formula One with Honda before his death in 1994, was considered Honda's main innovator in convincing the company to stiffen the NSX's chassis further after initially testing the car at Honda's Suzuka GP circuit in Japan. Senna further helped refine the original NSX's suspension tuning and handling by spending a whole day test driving prototypes and reporting his findings to Honda engineers after each of the day's five testing sessions. Senna also tested the NSX at the NĂŒrburgring and other race tracks. As a result of Senna's input, Honda took the NS-X prototype to the NĂŒrburgring to tune the chassis stiffness. Over the course of several months, the chassis was refined in a painstaking process: Nakajima would drive a lap on the circuit and then discuss with the Honda engineers where he felt flex in the chassis. The engineers would hand-weld aluminum braces in the area they believed would fix the issue and send the driver back out to confirm. This process was repeated over and over, with the data results sent directly to Honda headquarters in Japan, where it was fed into a Cray supercomputer and translated into reinforcements in the production aluminum monocoque. As a result of this process, the NS-X chassis stiffness increased by over 50% with only a small increase in weight. The suspension development program was similarly far-ranging and took place at the Tochigi Proving Grounds, the Suzuka circuit, the 179-turn NĂŒrburgring Course in Germany, HPCC, and Honda's newest test track in Takasu, Hokkaido. Honda automobile dealer Bobby Rahal (two-time CART PPG Cup and 1986 Indianapolis 500 champion) also participated in the car's development.
Honda NSX-R:
Honda decided in 1992 to produce a version of the NSX specifically modified for superior track performance at the expense of customary creature comforts. Thus, the NSX Type R (or NSX-R) was born. Honda chose to use its moniker of Type R to designate the NSX-R's race-oriented capabilities.
Honda engineers started with a base NSX coupé and embarked on an aggressive program of weight reduction. Sound deadening, the audio system, spare tyre, air conditioning system and traction control along with some of the electrical equipment were removed. The power leather seats were replaced with lightweight carbon-kevlar racing seats made by Recaro for Honda. However, electric windows and fore/aft electric seat adjusters were retained. The stock forged alloy wheels were replaced with lighter forged aluminium wheels produced by Enkei, which reduced the car's unsprung weight. The standard leather shift knob was replaced with a sculpted titanium piece. Overall, Honda managed to reduce approximately 120 kg (265 lb) of weight as compared to the standard NSX, resulting in the NSX-R's final weight of 1,230 kg (2,712 lb).
Due to its mid-engine layout and rear-end link travel, was susceptible to a sudden oversteer condition during certain cornering maneuvers. While this condition rarely occurred during normal driving conditions, it was much more prevalent on race tracks where speeds were much higher. To address the problem and improve the NSX-R's cornering stability at the limit, Honda added one aluminium bracket under the front battery tray and added one bracket in front of the front radiator to add more chassis rigidity replacing the entire suspension system with a more track oriented unit, featuring a stiffer front sway bar, stiffer suspension bushings, stiffer coil springs and stiffer dampers.
The standard NSX has a somewhat rearward bias in its spring and bar rates, where the rear was relatively quite stiff versus the front. This means that the lateral load transfer distribution, or the amount of load that is transferred across the front axle versus the rear while cornering, is rather rear biased. This can make the car quite lively and easy to rotate at low speed, but during high speed cornering, this effect becomes more pronounced and could be a handful to manage. To reduce the tendency to oversteer, Honda fitted softer rear tyres on the NSX. For the NSX-R, Honda reversed the spring bias, placing stiffer springs on the front suspension along with stiffer front sway bar. This shifted the load transfer stiffness balance farther forward, resulting in more rear grip at the expense of front grip; this had the effect of decreasing the oversteer tendency of the car, making it much more stable while cornering at high speeds. Overall, the NSX-R utilises a much stiffer front sway bar along with stiffer springs than the standard NSX (21.0 mm x 2.6 mm front sway bar: front 3.0 kg/mm, rear 4.0 kg/mm for the NSX versus front 8.0 kg/mm, rear 5.7 kg/mm for the NSX-R).
Honda also increased the final drive ratio to a 4.235:1 in place of the 4.06:1, which resulted in faster gear changes. This change improved acceleration, which was 4.9 seconds to 60 mph, at the expense of top speed, which was 168 mph, and a higher locking limited-slip differential was installed. Also, the NSX-R's 3.0-litre engine had a blueprinted and balanced crankshaft assembly which is exactly the same labour-intensive high precision process done for Honda racing car engines built by highly qualified engine technicians.
Beginning in late November 1992, Honda produced a limited number of 483 NSX-R variants exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (JDM). Factory optional equipment such as air conditioning, Bose stereo system, carbon fibre interior trim on the centre console as well as the doors and larger wheels painted in Championship White (16-inches at the front and 17-inches at the rear) were available for a hefty premium. Production of the NSX-R ended in September 1995.

2023.03.24 03:42 pavehawkfavehawk 2022 F-150 XL 5.0 12345.6 Mi review

Overview: I've had my truck a year now so here are my impressions. It's a Supercab, 6.5' bed, 4x4, Locker, tow package, 3.73 gears, and large fuel tank. I'm a simple man, haha. This was the first new vehicle I've ever bought for myself and the first Ford I've ever owned. I chose this over the Ram and GM 1500s because the visibility was so much better, the 5.0 sounded nice and had much better pick-up than the 5.3 Vortec. It just felt much better put together as well. So, my impressions: The truck has been extremely solid. I use it as my daily and commute 15-25 min through moderate city traffic, but also for hunting and towing every now and then. I've towed my 1987 C-10 from NM to Louisiana with a Uhaul car hauler and averaged 13 MPG. Power was perfect, control was good, and braking felt good. I also towed a 17' rented RV out to the boonies for elk hunting. It averaged 11 MPG (very mountainous) towing. Trolling around the fire roads was pretty good. It was very bouncy on account of the tow package. BUT we didn't get stuck or even struggle. Also with the larger tank we were able to tow 3 hrs up to the site, and drive around for 4 days on the same tank. We topped off for the return. With the 3.73s it's very peppy, even at 5,000' where I live. Goes right to the 106 mph speed limiter in no time, haha. The visibility in traffic in town is good and there really aren't any blind spots. Also, Gas mileage has averaged 18.5 since I bought it. The worst tank was 16ish, the best was 22 mpg and that was all highway at 75 - 80 mph. Issues: 1. The passenger A-pillar trim got a weird bleached out spot. It was replaced under warranty. . . That's it so far. I haven't noticed any oil consumption with the Coyote like some have noticed. 2. The 10 speed is..clunky. It works great, kicks down when I need it and upshifts seamlessly. BUT when taking off slowly at low speed it can hesitant then CLUNK down into a gear. It absolutely HATES 2nd gear. So if I California stop at an intersection then get on the gas for moderate acceleration it'll drop into first pretty rough. Things I'd have done different: 1. Crew cab. With the 6.5' bed its not THAT much longer. I was wrapped around the axle on cost and wheel base for offroad. The Supercab is plenty big for now, but it will be tough if I have a larger family. The suicide doors are the real issue. They're pretty annoying in tight parking spots. Also, I have a feeling that the door seals will be an issue eventually, there is more wind noise from where the front doors latch into the rears. They also rattle some on rougher roads. 2. sometimes I think I should have just gone full truck and gotten a 8' bed and regular cab. Thats what I had before. It worked fine.
Upgrades: 1. Wheels and Tires. The steel wheels are horrible looking, but I knew that. I'm cheap and didnt like any of the factory selections. So Likely some sort of bronze/brown wheel (Methods like everyone else?), and I have an unnatural love for Yokohama Geolandar MTs because that's what I had on my Jimny. Im bummed I'll take a MPG hit but whatever. 2. Bed liner. because I used the bed. 3. Tint. It gets hot here.
Any who, lots of words. I just noticed there arent THAT many people who have purchased any new trucks and put out a big review. Also I don't have time to make a video.
Feel free to ask me anything about it.

2023.03.24 03:39 Ford9863 [Out of Time] Part 3

Ms. Wilsby offered her shoulder for me to balance on as she led me toward the entrance, but I declined. I felt strange accepting it. My legs quickly protested that decision by buckling, though I was able to save a full tumble by lurching forward awkwardly. The result was akin to tripping over an invisible log.
Ms. Wilsby looked at me with pursed lips as I straightened my stance. “Are you sure you don’t want—”
“I’m sure,” I said. If I truly was what she said—a mechanical, artificially created thing, I should be well versed in a function as basic as walking. Some small part of me preferred the difficulty, though. It made me feel human.
My mind still couldn’t fully embrace the concept that I was anything else. Perhaps she had simply drugged me. That would explain it all, would it not? I hadn’t been transported away from my life in some futuristic car, I had simply been tripping out of my mind.
I told myself that. A few times, actually, in just the few seconds after the world stopped breaking. But deep down, I knew she was right. I could feel it.
So I followed her along the path. The grass on either side was neatly trimmed, but not professionally. Some spots had browned and died where the edger had cut too deep. Cracks spread through several spots in the concrete, small brown sprouts killed by chemicals before they could break through fully.
The building itself was uninteresting. Shades were drawn in most of the windows. Water stains extended a short distance from the roof. It could have used a good power washing to restore its bricks to a bright red rather than the muddy color they now showed, but all in all, it was rather plain.
And that, I realized, must have been the point. The structure was not so run down that you might stare in disgust, but not so well-kept that you would wonder what lie within. It was boring. Uninviting. Easy to drive right past and forget it ever existed.
Ms. Wilsby walked up three concrete steps a set of large, light-brown double doors and opened the one on the right. She stepped aside and gestured for me to go ahead. I nodded.
As soon as I stepped through the doors I was hit with a strong, musky smell—something akin to an old library. A black, coarse rug sat on the floor between two sets of double doors. Dried dirt clung to its crevices.
“What is this place?” I asked, stepping through the second set of doors. The lobby was plain—a white, speckled floor and a wide wooden desk in front of a gray wall. A shadow of discoloration showed a circular emblem behind the desk; something must have hung there, once, but had since been removed.
“Somewhere safe,” Ms. Wilsby said. “A lot of people come through here. Some stay for a long time.”
“A hotel,” I said, finally recognizing the layout. It was outdated, sure, but the concept was the same as the hotel back at the casino.
Ms. Wilsby nodded. “Once upon a time, yes. But now it’s a lot more than that.” She gestured toward a nearby doorway with a tilt of her head. I followed closely behind.
“I know you’ve got a lot of questions,” she said as we stepped into a long, narrow hall. “And I want to answer them all, but we must be careful.”
Dark wood panels ran from the floor halfway to the ceiling. Green wallpaper hung above that, though it curled away from the corners and bubbled here and there.
“I’m not sure I’d know where to start, Ms. Wilsby,” I said.
“Please, call me Mari. There’s no need to be formal.”
I nodded, still feeling my professional nature rebel at the idea. “I
still don’t feel entirely inhuman,” I said.
We turned a corner and found silver elevator doors. An old-style needle twitched above it, winding slowly to the right as grinding and screeching sounded within the shaft.
“I know it’s difficult to accept,” she said, turning to face me.
I shook my head. “It’s not that, exactly. I can tell that something is different inside me, but
I feel things. My hands stung when I fell to the pavement. I was dizzy when I tried to stand back up. I can smell the age of this place.”
“And you don’t want to?”
“I wouldn’t say that, no—it’s just
if I’m just a machine, why make me experience such unpleasant things? Shouldn’t I be more—”
“Robotic?” she finished.
I nodded.
“There was quite a heated debate about that very thing, actually. Many people fought for your kind’s ability to feel.”
I blinked. “Does that not seem cruel?”
“I’d argue it’s more cruel to force you to live in a world you cannot fully experience.”
A loud ding cut short any desire I had to continue the conversation. The doors to the elevator wailed as they opened. We stepped inside and she hit another button.
“Is this safe?” I asked, my concern shifting.
“Probably safer than the ones at the casino,” she said. “We actually inspect it regularly.”
I glanced at her. “We?”
A smile crept across her face. “My grandmother and I. I don’t do this all myself, David.”
“No, of course not,” I said, my mind spinning with what exactly she did here. It hadn’t passed my notice that she was yet to explain any of it to me. I decided to see what waited for us at the bottom of this shaft before asking. Perhaps I could gleam some amount myself. Or catch her in a lie.
We reached the bottom floor and the doors opened, stopping for half a second about halfway through the process. Once fully open, I faced a wide corridor with plain white walls and a red epoxy-coated floor.
Our steps echoed loudly as we made our way down the hall. It took a sharp turn at the end, then continued straight. Doors sat along the right wall—six, by my count. Each had a frosted glass window and a well-worn brass doorknob. None were marked in any way.
At the end of this hall was a gray metal door. Its handle was more industrial, complete with a number pad. Mari punched in a six-digit code—62918, I noted—and pushed it open. I heard a rush of air push through in the process.
The room beyond was nothing like I’d expected. The ceiling rose high overhead, lined with large, hanging lights. Desks lined the right wall, though they had been pushed aside to open the space more. More doors lined the left wall. Most of these were open, though each was accompanied by a large window that showed mere offices beyond. But directly in front of us, standing nearly twelve feet high, was a steel vault door.
I’d never seen the vault at the casino; I had only heard other employees talk about it. From their descriptions, it sounded just like the ones I’d seen in the movies. Now I wished I’d found a way to sneak a peak. Strangely enough, my mind craved something to compare to the sight before me.
This vault was circular, lined with neat rows of rivets along its edges. A wheel sat in the center, two bars extending diagonally to the left and one horizontally to the right. Two more vertical bars sat intertwined with the first on the right, covered in part by a flat, asymmetrical piece of steel. The lights above gave the whole thing a blue shimmer.
“Oh,” Mari said, “this hotel used to have a bank, as well. Upscale guests were frequent, they had to be prepared.”
Footsteps sounded from the left before I could respond. A young woman emerged from one of the few doors without a window—another hallway, from what I could tell—and stopped in her tracks when she saw me with Mari.
“Is this him?” she asked. I could sense the excitement in her tone.
Mari nodded. “This is David.”
The woman stepped quickly in our direction, raising her hand in greeting far too soon. She still had several steps to go with her arm raised before I could extend my own.
“David,” Mari said, gesturing toward the woman, “this is Rosanna, my grandmother.”
The woman’s eyes narrowed. She shot Mari a look, then shifted her gaze to me and flashed a smile. “Please, call me Rose. And you”—she shifted her eyes back to Mari—“stop calling me that.”
I shook her hand, my eyes flicking between the two of them. Guessing a person’s age was never a talent I boasted, but there simply wasn’t enough of a gap for an entire generation to fit between Rose and Mari. They did share some features, though, the more I studied them. But that didn’t mean a thing on its own.
“Is grandmother some sort of
nickname?” I asked. My curiosity had grown beyond my ability to stay silent.
“Not at all,” Mari said. “Rose simply doesn’t care for the title.”
“Because it’s rude,” Rose said sternly. Then her tone lightened and she added, “Plus, it’s entirely inaccurate.”
Mari waved a hand through the air. “It’s impossible to recall the number of ‘greats’ I’m to add to it, Rose. And to be honest, I’m not sure I could be bothered to say the word so many times, anyway.”
“Well if you’re not going to say it right, you shouldn’t say it at all.”
My brow furrowed. “I’m afraid I don’t understand.”
Rose lifted an eyebrow. “You sure this thing’s an android? Shouldn’t something so smart be able to intuit what’s happening?”
Mari shot her a hard look. “Don’t be a bigot, Rose. He’s not a thing.”
“Right, sorry,” Rose said with little conviction.
Mari turned toward me. “Rose is my ancestor, David,” she explained. “I’m from the future, as you are.”
“Oh,” I said, somewhat embarrassed I hadn’t pieced it together. I chalked it up to being overwhelmed—the ride here, the hotel itself, the strange, looming vault a mere fifty feet away. It was a lot to take in.
“Come,” Mari said, placing a hand on my shoulder, “let’s head somewhere a bit more comfortable and talk about exactly what Rose and I do here.”
I followed them into the hallway Rose had emerged from, eyeing the vault door as we passed. Questions swirled in the back of my mind. What lay beyond that door suddenly jumped to the top of my list.

2023.03.24 03:35 TheZetharoni Hot Wheels: The Ultimate Highway 35 and AcceleRacers Retrospective UPDATE

Have a bit more to cut down in some other parts of the video and extended audio edits are needed so the sounds good, I just finished up Part 5 - The Finish Line. I need to do some live action shots, but I'm hoping to be done by April 5th with everything. I have established a strict schedule for myself, and so far, it has been successful.

WHERE WE LAST LEFT OFF ON PARTY ROLL....

Oh thank the heavens! We're outta the tombs! Climbing out of the Tombs with various fresh dead bodies, the party manages to escape some tough questions from the priests with some sweet Jedwyn explanations. They even manage to acquire some help to wheelbarrow the bodies to the castle. All their efforts are put on a hold however when a commotion in the direction of the town square occurs. Running over, they see that sneaky son-of-a-bitch Daniel Crumb murder a couple of guards, but he isn't after them....no no no...his harrowed dead eyes are fixed on the person in the stationary carriage.... One Daniel Creme leaps from the back of the carriage into the streets away from the ambush only to be stopped in his tracks by a weird sound emitted by Daniel Crumb. You know where this is going...Our party aren't the best bodyguards and well...Daniel Creme gets shanked in the back and dies by the hands of Daniel Crumb. Still following?! Crumb killed Creme. Combat evolves with our group and Crumb, until our brave young quarter Satyr friend Fumbles, ends Daniel Crumb's (for certain?) life, just in-time for the priests approaching with the bodies in wheel barrows to pick up more bodies to present to the king.
Dios mio!

BACK TO THE STORY!

The party finally arrives at the castle and are stopped at the gates by guards wondering what the hell this corpse train behind them is all about.
Barilla Stromboli, Roll for Intimidation on the guards to allow them to pass with the dead bodies. 13 The guards are hesitant but willing to listen them out.

The guards tell em the dump the bodies, but also tell the group they will handle it and are ushered along to see the King. The accustomed pageantry follows as the king comes into the room and quickly addresses the groups findings. The king listens on but its intrigued when Fumbles explains that the bodies in this restricted area were being bisected and worked on. The colour drops from the Kings face as he realizes the situation is far worse than he previously thought. Some group has infiltrated the temples and this could be linked to the sympathizers of the descendants of the island. Eager to push his plans, King Talantis reaches for a scroll and breaks into his next quest for the group. While he's always suspected there to be some civil unrest with the descendants, he hasn't been able to cull them out entirely. Maybe his shit guards are the problem. But before him is a capable party willing to do his bidding. Right? He breaks out a map and points to a grove in the "north-right" area of the city. It's oddly enough known as the "Descendants Grove", a suspected stronghold. Their mission, if they should choose it, is to recon the area and report back to the king. On their way it's suggested they head to the "Illuminated Grove", a place where King Talantis the first sowed the first seeds of his conquest. The king is carried off to trumpets.
Fritz listening on doesn't feel good about this. He and Jedwyn with his telepathic abilities talk it out; were they brought here to cleanse the island? Maybe the King and his force are the bad ones? hmmmmm
Uneasy over the development of things, the party softly agree to the kings request but backtrack once he leaves the room. They head to collect their reward, some 1200 gold, riccccch boys!
Heading back to the Tavern they each buy their own rooms and head to bed.
The very next day, pockets full, the shopping spree commences!
Jedwyn decides to sell the Orb he'd been mage handling since the tombs by heading to a magic shop. It happens to be illegal....as it can trap souls...
Jedwyn Bogswallow, Roll for persuasion to convince the shop keeper if he would take this orb off his hand for a few gold pieces 19 The shop keeper "drops 275 gold" and the orb manages to be in his ownership.
Now the shopkeeper starts to haggle his wares to the rest of the group, like Carl 7... He pulls out an old skeleton key for 15 gold, says he doesn't know what it opens to...
Carl 7, roll to haggle 18, success! Haggles to 10 pc of gold

The shop keeper now turns to Fritz and reaches down to a small metal can. It has no lid but shakes like a salt shaker. The riddle is solving it lies with Fritz if he chooses to purchase it for 8 gold, which he does.
Barilla is offered an iron branded dark ceramic urn, which have the ashes of a great hero. Anyone who carries it, takes on his bravery for only 15 gold.

Barilla Stromboli roll to haggle 19, success! Haggles to 10 pc of gold

Jedwyn grabs provisions as well as a mule with a pack saddle. A cart is bought by Barilla, which is attached to Carl 7's steed which he always has with him apparently. Fumbles buys a disguise kit but something else happens to the entire group....
THE GROUP IS NOW LEVEL 6 !!!!
WILL THE GROUP BETRAY THE KING AND NOT DO HIS QUEST?
HOW HAVE THE DECENDANTS INFILTATED THE KINGS DEFENSES SO EASILY?!
COULD THIS ALL BE FOR NIMDRITE?!
CHOOOO CHOOOOO CHOOOOOO!!! HOP ON, CAUSE THE ONLY WAY TO FIND OUT WHERE WE'RE GOING IS BY TUNING IN....ON THE NEXXXXXT PAAAAAAAARRRRRTTTTTYYYYY ROOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!
