I’ve been constipated since around July 2022. I only have bowel movements when I take dulcolax, which I space out to every 10 days. I’ve tried miralax (up to 5 doses in one day), senna, psyllium husk, fiber supplements, increasing fiber intake, FODMAP to no avail.
I am so tired constantly. I could sleep for 12 hours and still be tired. I am tired no matter the amount of sleep I get. My primary care doctor said it could just be IBS-C but she didn’t do any tests or refer me to a GI specialist. I’ve maybe had three total BM without laxatives over the last 6 months. I drink 2 liters of water a day. It’s hard to even eat much nowadays because the constipation is so uncomfortable.
Any ideas?

 | I'm writing this post to bring your attention to a grave human rights violation taking place in Turkey. Recently, a group of over 100 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, a persecuted religious minority, sought asylum at the Turkish-Bulgarian border. Tragically, they were met with violence and aggression from Turkish authorities. Today, I urge you to stand with us in demanding justice for these innocent individuals who have been subjected to torture and abuse. submitted by porcupous to FreeAtheism [link] [comments] First-hand testimonies, including video footage, voice recordings, and photographs, provide harrowing accounts of the torture and mistreatment suffered by the detained Ahmadi members in the Edirne deportation center in Turkey. Among them are women, children, and elderly individuals who were targeted and subjected to inhumane conditions. Reports indicate that 30 detainees, including 10 women and 2 children, remain severely injured. Disturbingly, despite their injuries, their requests for hospital visits have been ignored. Redouane Foufa, one of the detained members, recounts being beaten and injected with an unknown substance. He further reveals that women and children were also subjected to various torture methods, such as deprivation of food, water, sleep, and exposure to extreme weather conditions. Hassan Oyandi, a Turkish member of the religion, bravely shared a video testimony, providing visible evidence of his bruises and swellings resulting from the severe beatings he endured. Additionally, two UK amateur journalists, Sermad Al-Khafaji and Alexandra Foreman, who were present with the group, were taken into custody and mistreated. Their accounts include being held in appalling conditions, witnessing beatings, and coercion to sign incomprehensible documents. These horrifying acts of torture and abuse represent a clear violation of the Turkish Criminal Procedure Code Article 148, which strictly prohibits any form of misconduct, torture, or coercion. Hi everyone! We have a 2004 Lexus GX that will go from my car to a teen car (we will soon go from 2 to 3 drivers sharing our 2012 civic, and with them all having jobs/sports/etc that’s not enough). After test driving earlier this week I’m 99% sure I’ll be getting a Highlander (Platinum trim). Granted I could hold out for the Grand Highlander but my husband has a Telluride that fits everyone on the rare occasion all 6 kids are in the car with both of us, so 7 seats works fine for me (the non driving kids are 13, 7 and 4). I typically have 3 kids in the car with me, if that many, and we are not a tall family.
I’m torn between the hybrid and gas models. I love the MPG on the hybrid, especially with how much ground I cover going to sports stuff for the kids, however we live in hilly SW Ohio and regularly have to help Amazon drivers get up our long, steep driveway with rubber mats in the winter. I had decided on hybrid (if I can find one) before doing some deep dives here and seeing reports of the AWD differences.
We typically purchase the best all season tires available since they have significant impact on traction, and have never had more than minor slippage driving carefully in the GX on our hilly and windy roads in the winter.
I don’t have a hard timeline for purchase, so in theory I could wait for a hybrid to become available (although sooner would be better than later with teen summer jobs/off season lifting gearing up). There are 2 within 250 miles that fit the specs I am looking for, so in theory I might be able to snag one of them?
Obviously we hold on to cars for a while, the 2004 GX was my dad’s before he passed but we keep cars for 10+ years

I fully agree with what he said about those channels and in all honesty I've been guilty of watching a few of them as some might watch reality TV. I would like to know if Kyle has an opinion on the quick fire science fact style of videos. Ranging from the many channels of Simon Whistler that seem to be well intentioned, to other "Tiktok-y" style quick fire channels. Maybe even Sci show and eons?

Found myself in Atlanta tonight and amazed at the difference in prices. Hot Dogs $2. 30 oz refillable soda cup $4. Large domestic beer $8, craft $10.50. Pizzas decent and $6. I love CMP, I love SKC, but after experiencing match days in Minnesota, and now Atlanta we are lacking. Toronto and Dallas weren’t great, but SKC just doesn’t stand up anymore.
Happy to see Latif tonight and will try to catch the 2nd half of SKC and Frisco Fc.

Just wanted some input on a good first bike for myself.
Currently tossing up the rebel 500 or Vulcan s 650. New to riding (on road) but have an extensive past with trails/motocross. Generally pretty confident, about 5’10 and 80kg so bike weight is a consideration but not a huge deal. Also on a restricted license. Gotta be a learner approved motorcycle or Lams as I’m in Australia, generally these cap at about 650cc, some 900cc bikes are accepted too.
Currently tossing up the rebel 500 or Vulcan 650 (open to any other suggestions too).
My main use is a commuter to work through the city like 15-20 minutes. along with commuting on a highway for an hour ish to uni.
My main concern with the rebel or Vulcan is it’s highway usage. Are they too light and will I get blown around on an ‘interstate’ type highway?
More so interested in cruisers for the weight and comfort of longer rides, however I don’t have experience in what sports bikes or other types of motorbikes would be for my circumstance.
If anyone has any input or recommendations It would be greatly appreciated

All of a sudden they disabled Virtual FX feature on my account. I'm now holding multiple currency pairs in cash value position. When I reached out to their customer support, they said it was disabled for all users to avoid confusion for users trying to convert their currency but not trading. They are now telling me that to get the virtual fx I need to enable leveraged forex but that option is available only for dealers with net worth more than $20m.
I have been trading forex for last 10 years and it was always leveraged. Is there any new regulation from FINRA? Is anyone else affected and any help on this is appreciated?

Was at the Emirates on Sunday for the Arsenal v Wolves game. Chanced it on a chicken balti pie at half time expecting some dry, overcooked Pukka Pie nonses but it was actually banging. Maybe the best pie I've ever had, and under a fiver which isn't bad by PL standards. That got me thinking... I wonder who has the best pie in the league.

My Aunty and mother said I better start running or they would eat me. I ran out of the house and I look behind me then the f#%ked up part happened. They were chasing me shirtless. Their nipples were the mouth of the star nosed mole and they were trying to eat me from the nipples. Yes even picturing that is horrific and honestly my imagination isn’t creative enough to make that up. So yeah the worlds most horrific animal. |

Background
I took up running in 2019, and have been training consistently since 2021. I run decent mileage - 4000+km in both 2021 and 2022, with frequent sustained peaks above 100km per week. I ran the Edinburgh half marathon in 1:23 last year, and a trail 50k in that summer, but this would be my first marathon.I spent Christmas 2022 out for a couple weeks with a simultaneous sickness bug and a twisted knee, so started this year building back feeling like I'd lost a bit of fitness. In early February though I ran a half marathon in 1:22, and although I think the course was a little short I felt like I was still in decent shape.
Training
I designed my plan based on Pfitz, averaging 114km over the 13 weeks pre-taper, peaking at 131km per week (in fact, 152km was my highest 7 day total!). Although I'd hit close to this mileage before on one-off occassions, never for such a sustained period. I got married and went on my honeymoon during this period, but still sustained the mileage - only really missing a couple days when I was sick about 3 weeks out. But the timing of the honeymoon, being away for someone else's wedding and then getting sick meant that my peak mileage was 7 weeks out.My general structure was running 7 days, normally with a couple of doubles (run commuting 3 times a week). One workout - starting with tempos and then moving to shorter stuff closer to the race a la Pfitz - and one long run. I wasn't as good getting the medium-long run in mid-week as I'd have like, but I did 6 runs longer than 30km, with two 37km runs.
The latter of these, 4 weeks out, contained 23km at marathon pace - I started this at 4:15 and worked down to 4:05. The 23km averaged 4:11 and felt good - not easy but definitely not an all out effort. I only did one other MP LR - 31km w/ 16km @ MP. I did that early in the block in non-race shoes, started too fast and blew up completely - so the later run was a good confidence builder.
Other workouts weren't anything special - I'm not really one for hard sessions. I did race a few times though - two 10 Mile races, a half marathon (on my honeymoon in New York!), and a 10k two weeks out. These were all largely untapered, but ran 1:01:XX in both 10 Miles, 1:22:35 for 3rd place in the HM, and 37:12 in the 10k.
So while the training wasn't perfect, I was pretty happy and in the best shape of my life. All this gave me confidence that targeting sub-3 was a good idea - and if anything, a bit conservative - at Edinburgh.
Race
Forecast was for a bit of a heatwave, but thankfully race day was supposed to only be 14C - although in the end this felt hot enough with no clouds or shade. My wife came down with a nasty sickness about a week before the race, and although I think I missed it I was a bit paranoid I might have something lingering under the surface.Nutrition-wise, I had two slices of toast and a banana for breakfast, a gel just before the start and then 6 on the course - after roughly 5k/10k/18k/26k/35k/40km.
I started conservatively, 4:22 for the first two km, then after the downhill settled into 4:10-12. I came through halfway at 1:29:04 feeling decent - working but feeling good about the pace. This continued until about 31km, where there's a wee gravel section I was slipping a bit on. After that I slipped a few seconds off the pace - not much, but around 34km I started see 4:20 on my watch and my confidence was fading. I thought sub-3 might be tight but doable if I could hold on to that. Sadly it was not to be.
Around 38k I hit the wall big time - dropping below 5:00/km, and then quickly below 6:00. I knew sub-3 was long gone by now, but kept myself running - I didn't stop or walk at all, but I was going at what is normally the slowest end of recovery. Interestingly, my heart-rate dropped here too - I just couldn't get my legs or body to work for me.
I even started to panic that my very safe (I thought!) B goal was in doubt. My dad was a very good 3000m SC and 5000m runner when he was young (15:20 5000m PB I think), but he'd run one marathon without specific training, blown-up horribly and come in at 3:10. So a 'family PB' was the back-up goal.
In the end I kept moving forward, and made that time fairly comfortably. I mustered my best 'sprint finish' at about 5:10/km and came in at 3:07.
Post-race & Reflections
I was disappointed, but not as much as I'd thought I might be. Cringe as it sounds I'm pleased I managed to keep myself running when the goal was evaporating.I don't think I went out too fast, and the pace felt fine (until it didn't), but possibly that first half stretch from at 4:10ish was a little bit quicker than ideal. All the predictors had me on a fair bit quicker than sub-3, and I ran good mileage. While there's tweaks to be made to training, I can't think of anything super significant.
So thinking of what went wrong, I'm focussed on nutrition - the gels were the High-5 ones with 23g carbs, so in total I had ~160g, a bit below 60g/hour recommended. I thought this would be OK - but evidently not.
I'm interested in people's thoughts though?
What's Next
After some recovery weeks, I'm focusing on a HM and a 10 Mile in SeptembeOctober - would be nice to get closer to sub-1:20 and sub-60. But I think I still have a marathon itch to scratch - so will probably sign up for another next spring and give sub-3 another go.Made with a new race report generator created by herumph.
