I (f19) have a friend (f23) who's got a husband who she constantly complains about she constantly says about how their marriage is ruined and how she can't stand him and how much she hates him and how she's unhappy in the marriage. Yet she never leaves. She would constantly play flirt with me and would tell me how much of a better wife I would be, I would play flirt back and told her she should ditch him and be with me. She would laugh and say she wouldn't even have to, how her husband wouldn't mind her being in another relationship. How he thought it would be "hot."
She sounded serious, and at that point, I had started to have feelings for her, so I asked her if she would consider actually being my girlfriend. She said she would ask her husband.
I never got an answer back.
Whatever, I didn't push it anymore. I wasn't trying to be pushy, and I knew her relationship was struggling, so I backed off. It hurt, it hurt so so much, and I don't want to sound like I'm being overdramatic but I did love her and it hurt to hear how she was so miserable and how much she hated her husband. It took me a while but I finally finally got over her and a few months after I got into a relationship with another girl.
It didn't last too long, it triggered some of my abandonment issues and threw me into a depressive episode. She knew this when we were on call with friends she kept flirting with me, and she was asking when I'd go and visit her. She sent me her nudes, and to make it worse just as we got off call she told me "we're girlfriends now" all the feelings that I pushed down for her came back and I couldn't help but feel giddy, after all, she said she was finally breaking it off with her husband. I really thought we had a chance.
I called my friend (Lara) and told her I was nervous. That I was still very much trying to push myself out of the depressive episode I was having she told me to talk to her to ask her what we were. So I texted her:
"Hey [D], I know this is gonna sound weird and all that but I really really like you and when you said we were girlfriends I freaked out a bit, cause I don't want to get my hopes up, I've noticed [A] did that to me and now It's kinda triggered my abandonment issues. I need you to be honest with me and tell me where we go from here. I'd be more than honored to be your girlfriend but I also don't want to push you into a relationship seeing everything that's going on with [S]."
She told me she was sorry but she couldn't tell me since her feelings for me were muddy atm and if I could give her some time so she could gather her thoughts she would come back and tell me.
I told her that it was fine and that I could wait I didn't want to be pushy. Except today when I spoke to Lara, she told me the truth. That D had told her that she had "joked" about being my girlfriend and now she felt bad cause she didn't feel the same way, that she felt sorry for having to break my heart. Lara told her it was shitty for her to play with my feelings, especially after flirting so openly and sending me nudes. She didn't really say anything about it. Especially after knowing that I had feelings for her and that I had gotten over her.
Lara said she was sorry that she thought D had told me that we had that conversation. We didn't.
Now I'm sitting here feeling like a complete idiot. I'm not sad I'm not feeling anything except anger at myself and at her and at everything. It's not the fact she doesn't like me back its the fact she played with me, it's the fact she decided to not tell me how she really felt. It's the fact I had to hear it from Lana rather than from her. Especially knowing I had been struggling with a depressive episode.
I want to die I want to die so badly to forget it all. I've been clean for 2 months and I'm desperate to relapse again. I want to feel but I can't I want to cry but I can't I'm so stupid.
I can't handle it. She's taken whatever little will was there.

I'm currently deciding where to attend University and have some questions regarding the best major to pick. However, my true passion lies in aerospace engineering but my concern with picking aerospace engineering as my only major is that I will not be able to find a job once I graduate and will not have the broad job market a mechanical engineer has.
With that, I do have a few paths in terms of options I was thinking of, but I'm not sure how viable they might be and would like feedback:

1. Double major in mechanical and aerospace engineering (CU Boulder)
2. Major in mechanical engineering and just take some aerospace classes on the side throughout my time at uni (CU Boulder, Cal Poly Slo, UBC)
3. Major in mechanical engineering with an aerospace specialization (UBC only, would graduate with an mechanical BS but will have taken aerospace courses)

My other concern is curriculum/school. I know that with a double major I will have the schooling to support a career in aerospace. The other two options I'm not sure of. Plus, I know that CU Boulder will help prepare me to have a career in aerospace even if I don't double major especially with the NASA Colorado Space Grant Consortium. I think that CU Boulder would prepare me best no matter which of the 3 major options I choose followed by Cal Poly Slo and then UBC.
Of the three major options I've listed, which would you think is betteworth it. Are there any key pros or cons to any of them?

Let's get this out of the way first: Such a deal is about a year off at least from now, given April 2024 is the earliest such a deal could transpire given limitations within the previous merger between Discovery and Warner Bros.
That being said, there's a lot of speculation and rumors floating around currently that Warner Bros Discovery could be consumed by a merger in 2024 into Universal thanks to an acquisition by Comcast. This has been talked about for years because Comcast was interested the first time Warner Bros put itself on the market before merging with Discovery. It's no secret that the next several Warner Bros films are expected to flounder at the box office significantly (Such as several upcoming DC films as well as bad news from within the Warner Bros animation department), and unlike Comcast Warner Bros does not have as much of a diversified inventory to hold it floating through a bad streak in it's entertainment markets. Such an acquisition would result in Universal and Disney each holding over 33% of the total shares in the film industry, resulting in combined holdings over a 2/3 share over the film industry umbrella. This would give unprecedented monopolization over the entertainment industry.
But I think there's a pretty decent argument that such a bloc has been a long time in the making: Warner Bros and Universal have been good bedfellows for over a decade now, becoming especially close in regards to sharing licenses between theme parks and film IPs. Universal shared the rights to King Kong and Dracula with Warner Bros, while Warner Bros has provided it's own IPs including Hanna Barbara properties and, most notably, Harry Potter to their theme parks. The ownership of the two companies are already on good terms and have been for quite a few years.
There would be some notable consequences to such a merger: DC properties would likely eventually replace the Marvel ones in Universal Studios Florida, plans for Warner Bros IP are rearranged or cancelled under new leadership, and HBO max is either rebranded or merged with Universal properties on Peacock. This would also be an expensive acquisition of Warner Bros due to the amount of debt Warner Bros Discovery has accumulated in recent years due to various box office bombs and arguably poor management of it's streaming service HBOMax. This would be a heavy cost that, if mismanaged, could weigh down Comcast from investments in more theme parks, their currently owned IP, and Peacock (which likely merges content with HBOMax or just dissolves).
So we reach our inquiry:
1) Should Warner Bros Discovery put itself on the market next year if this year goes poorly for them?
2) Should Comcast be interested or are the IP not worth approaching relative to the large library of IP they have on their own? It's likely Apple, Disney, or Amazon would also consider their options here but in my opinion Comcast gets the greatest benefits due to their theme park and merchandizing holdings.
3) What would be likely outcomes in terms of IP management that would occur if this deal went down?

This post is inspired by current events that I'm sure we're all aware of, but it's not directly about those events. Just wanted to clarify that.
So, I have a scientific education. In my country education works a little bit differently and you basically choose lesson "packages" in high school and college rather than picking specific classes (which I think is how it works in the U.S.). And in high school I picked a scientific package for 6 years (our high school is from 12 to 18) and then at university I studied psychology for 5 years.
And in a scientific context, at least in psychology, language serves a very important function. Definitions are key because in order for your research to actually mean anything you need to figure them out very precisely and in a way that is objectively measurable.
And today I just had to think about how the use of language in politics serves almost the exact opposite function.
In science the role of language is to specify, clarify and promote understanding.
In politics the role of language is usually to obfuscate, to manipulate and the trick.
One example of the former is something called "operationalization." Which is where you take a concept like "depression" and you define it according to something very specifically measurable within your research. Like "depression" is "a score of 15-30 on this questionnaire." You define that in your paper and whenever someone reads the word "depression" in it, they immediately understand what you mean. It's specific, it's clear, it's very much understandable with basically no grey area within that context. And that's the point. Everyone who reads the paper is on the same page.
The best example of the latter is stuff like "enhanced interrogation" or "special military operation." These terms are referring to something we all understand as "torture" and "war." But those terms aren't used, instead these other neologisms are used. Why? To trick and manipulate people. To make torture not seem as bad or as illegal as it is. And in the latter case to trick people into thinking no war was started and it's just "some skirmish" or whatever that won't actually impact their lives.
And it's just striking to me as someone with a scientific background but who now has been following politics closely for almost a decade (started taking a real interest around about 2015 during the Bernie campaign). Just striking how much these two uses of language are the exact opposite of each other.
And, admittedly, it's extremely frustrating to me whenever these language games are played in politics. Because if everyone would just use the scientific approach of clearly defining their words it would be so much easier to discuss these concepts, come to a mutual understanding, etc.
But then again, that's the point. That's what so many politicians don't want. Because they use this trickery to advance their own power and interests.
Extremely frustrating though, at least to me.

After almost lifting consistently for a year, I realized I have anterior pelvic tilt where my lower back is hyper extended backwards increasing risk of lower body injuries due to lower back vulnerability regardless of core strength. Not just that but they make the body look unaesthetic imo.
From what I've read they say that APT causes lower back pains, hip pains, etc however I've managed to remain pain and injury free in general and on my squats and deadlifts while reaching heavy triple digits with them so far. It could be cause I'm still young at 21 years old however I wouldnt want it having an effect on me in th long run so I've been correcting it with reverse hypers.
Anyone else with APT experiencing or experienced something similar. Would love to hear your inputs.
