2023.03.24 06:42 MickeyBTSV Anyone done a psychological assessment/IQ testing?
So I saw a psychologist a couple weeks ago and underwent a psychological assessment like an IQ test. Majority of it was verbal, that is he'd ask me a question and I'd answer, I didn't read anything. Things like sort a list of numbers into ascending order or maths equations like John has 62 apples and 4 kids kind of deal, and others I can't remember. Well my working memory score only came to 73 (average is 100) and total IQ of 105. I've completed computer based IQ tests in the past where I can see and read the questions and not have to remember what was said as I could reread the question and I've gotten an IQ result of 125.
My psychologist never heard of Aphantasia before and once I explained it and he looked it up he said "well that makes total sense and that's why you had trouble with some aspects of the test and probably why the two results are so different".
Just wondering if anyone else with Aphantasia has encountered similar?

Im from South America, born and raised, came here in my teens… there isn’t a lot of autistic people there, there’s still some down síndrome and others clearly since birth. And living here and seeing so so many people with autism that are totally normal otherwise makes me wonder.. I was talking with some family that are from the same place, and we came up with a theory that maybe because the way Americans treat babies since they are born? With letting cry out loud since birth, sleep training, all that stuff… because my culture is the opposite, we are very very loving (not that Americans aren’t) sleep with the babies on our arms if that’s what they seem to want/need, very warm people and friendly/touchy. And we say this because one family of ours is our sister in law, born and raised here in usa, has a 2 year old the same age as the other 2 year old in our family that is raised by South American parents, they are completely different. The American one doesn’t like to be touched, doesn’t like to speak, super serious and shy and we’ve seen his mom letting him cry out loud and we even had to get in a fight w her and told her she isn’t allowed to do that in our home. She didn’t let us help him and touch him when he clearly wanted someone’s arms. The other kid is the opposite, doesn’t stop speaking, loves to be held, loves to cuddle, has a super sweet funny personality, speak two different languages by the age of 2, etc… I’m not saying that the American one has autism, but it makes us wonder that if the way they are raised since babies has anything to do with the way they are. I’m not judging or anything I hope you guys don’t feel like I am, I’m just sharing this because I want to hear your thoughts, maybe I could completely be wrong. Thank you 🙏

So I just finished an ER visit for severe pelvic pain. I pretty frequently have cysts that burst, tried to manage it at home and urgent care, but the MD told me to go to the ER if it was still painful. Of course having it on the right lower side, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't appendicitis or some complication I was missing (I had pain for 2+ days and normally at all costs avoid the ER for this because of gaslighting/know I'm not dying). I had to get an intravaginal ultrasound, very common for me, but it was THE MOST PAINFUL IVE EVER HAD. Like I was at a 6/10 pain with the pelvic pain, but it was like 8/10--on verge of tears even when she wasn't poking around. Apparently my ovaries didn't want to comply today, so there was EXTRA digging around. Ultimately no ovarian torsion or appendicitis (thank God!), But the ER doc suspects pelvic inflammatory disease especially because of the trace amounts of blood in my urine, inflammation, and pain.
I just got home and the ultrasound was so rough I am now having some slight bleeding. I was just wondering since I've never had a PID diagnosis if this is typical of this? Didn't know if anyone had experienced something similar. Thankfully have a GYN appt next week but wondering if another ultrasound is necessary with the trauma I had with this one today.

I realize the chances of getting an upgrade with this card alone are slim to none to begin with, but I recently upgraded from a platinum about three days from my flight. I bought the tickets with the platinum version of it and am wondering if my upgraded card will even be recognized for an upgrade chance within that time frame? Same with Skyclub access. Note I won't have the physical card before the flight even.

I never went to a neighbor or friend's house before. So most of my time spent was drawing or writing which developed into being bored by social things like going to concerts, teamwork games, or just group...stuff always felt like a hassle. I'd rather draw.
Makes me wonder what life will be like when I inevitably have to work/play with others.

im wondering it's it's safe to keep my house plants in my home if my newly adopted cat has never shown any interest in them. do cats randomly develop this behavior? most of my plants are out of reach but i have a few monsteras that my cat could theoretically get to. i adopted my cat around a week ago and he has never shown any interest in them, even when exploring and playing he always just walks right past them. he has never even trying playing with their leaves. (i let him around some of the ones in my bedroom with supervision). i wonder if this will always be the case or this kind of plant eating behavior can change and suddenly when i'm out for groceries he will eat them and get sick. any advice is appreciated.

Since the start of the month, I've had three very awkward raids from people with only one person. I'm normally really happy to receive raids from single viewers - I think it's really sweet that they'd pick me to come hang out with after streaming! But lately, every time it's only been one person, the person starts acting weird in one way or another.
The first person came in and started complaining about having no viewers, typing depressing messages, that kind of stuff.
The second came in and started self-promoting hard. They then joined the Discord, and self-promo'd in channels other than the designated spot.
Today, the third person came in, typed some real awkward comments about my appearance, then asked why I didn't follow them, even though they raided me.
I love encouraging streamers to come hang out, regardless of how many viewers they have, but this is making me wonder if I should set a limit on who can raid me. It's been really uncomfortable.

About a decade ago, I was in my early twenties and I traveled around in Spain. I found this amazing deal to stay in an apartment for like under $20 per night. As a broke student I thought I won the lottery and decided to stay a whole week in this place before continuing to other areas. (I was in Spain for like a month)
It was a gorgeous and elegant apartment. But you guessed it. Bedbugs.
I never even heard of bed bugs back then and when I saw these tiny little beetles that were crawling on the walls in the bedroom, the ceiling and some furniture I was grossed out but it was just in the bedroom and all the other rooms were fine and I am generally ok with insects.
After the first night, I had tons of bites all over my arms. Multiples of three in several places. At this point we realized it’s the bugs that are biting. After that it was a lot tougher to sleep in the same bed again knowing I will be bitten. I didn’t stay the whole week but I did stay a few days.
I still think it was just insane to stay there even one extra night but that was the traveling life on a shoestring.
The lucky part, to this day, I have no idea how I managed not to carry them into every other place, including home after that encounter.
I mean, in hindsight, that room was crawling with bed bugs.
