Was hunting in Rancho last night in search of my first diamond muley. Tried SRP for a few days but couldn't find any monsters. Anyhow, I shot a muley in Rancho, and it scored 337.4 and is a TYPICAL!!!!! (I'm so pumped about it still) , but it went gold instead of diamond. Shouldn't it be diamond if it's above the threshold?? I'm still pumped either way, I'm just curious how scoring works.
Side note: it seems that the muleys in Rancho are bigger than SRP per their lvl 3-4- etc. Do different maps hold larger trophies of the same animals than others? Or is the game keeping with what a desert muleys genetics typically are, which is usually super heavy and wide vs the genetics of muleys in the rockies?

Curious about aging times
Last night I shot this muley 5⭐️ mature Buck. His genealogy is in the 99th percentile for good genes. His trophy score was only 461ish. Curious why it was so low with good genes at mature age. Moments later I shot a monster whitetail I was sure was 5⭐️ also, he ended up being a big 4⭐️, also mature, also with a genealogy in the 99th percentile. How’s that possible? Is it a bug possibly, or am I missing something with the aging process.

2016.11.16 16:12 Daltxponyv2 Hunting Mule Deer

Hey guys. We have a property in West Texas that has both White tail and Mule deer. I have a monster mature Muley on camera at a feeder. I have only ever hunted white tail which I know I can stand hunt, but I feel like every mule deer hunt I've ever seen on TV they can see much better than WT so I wasn't sure if I should forgo the blind and camo up and sit up on the hill in cover.
The issue is that stand has huge line of sight so I could see him from further out and maybe even if he crosses the road in an area we have seen him cross.
Final Point. Mule Deer have almost never been hunted at this property. I had a 10 point and a group of 6 doe just sit on the side of the road while I hung my head out of the truck and snapped a pic with my phone. This is a hunt I've always wanted so I don't want to screw it up by hunting a Muley like a WT.
