2023.06.06 07:28 Zestyclose-Goal6882 Do you guys ever go to ChatGPT and have it gush about Gizz?
AI does a really good job making me want to learn about KG for the first time all over again. It's a really good introduction to get friends curious.
"King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, an Australian rock band formed in 2010, has experienced significant growth in popularity over the last decade. While they initially started with a more underground following, their unique sound and prolific output have helped them gain a dedicated fan base worldwide.
One of the factors that contributed to their rise in popularity is their relentless work ethic. The band is known for their prolific output, releasing multiple albums within a year. This consistent stream of new music has helped them attract attention and maintain a strong presence in the music industry.
Their music is often characterized by its eclectic blend of genres, ranging from psychedelic rock and garage rock to prog rock and microtonal experimentation. This distinct and experimental sound has resonated with a wide range of listeners, allowing them to build a diverse and dedicated fan base.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's energetic live performances have also contributed to their growing popularity. They are known for their high-energy shows and captivating stage presence, which has helped them build a reputation as an exciting live act.
Their popularity has been further boosted by critical acclaim and positive word-of-mouth. As they continued to release albums and experiment with different styles, they gained recognition from music critics and enthusiasts, leading to increased exposure and a broader fan base.
While they may not have achieved mainstream chart success on a large scale, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has developed a devoted following over the last decade. Their unique sound, prolific output, and engaging live performances have played a significant role in their progression in popularity."
I know this is all stuff we've read before across countless descriptions of the band, but having AI explain it works pretty well.

| Hello guys I was lucky enough to attend Coachella for the first time and had the privilege to watch the performance of Frank Ocean in a pretty decent spot, for me it was the most amazing musical experience of my life, I attended the concert with 2 of my best friends, we came from México mainly for Frank but we enjoyed a lot of sets during the weekend, I would love to hear your opinion on the set only if you attended and I would be specially thankful if you lived that experience under the influence of the substance in the T-shirt, I think that Frank hint us to use that substance for the performance submitted by juanss2 to FrankOcean [link] [comments] |

2023.06.06 07:17 Nervarel JRPGs that stuck the landing (or didn't).
Obviously, this will be full of spoilers, so read at own risk. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one asking, but I notice this being a constant topic when discussing specific games, so I decided to make this post.
Browsing this sub and JRPG discussions in general, it seems like the majority of games, even though they are liked, are bashed for their endings. We often joke about the fact that we start killing rats and end the game fighting gods. So I want to ask 3 questions:
1.) What does a game need to do for you to consider it having a good ending? What do you look for in antagonists? What should the final scenes include?
2.) Which games' endings do you remember fondly?
3.) Which games' ending do you dislike.
Gonna go first:
1.) I want an antagonist who had an impact on the game and made you hate him. A big finale culminating into the boss battle to settle all scores developed in the last tens of hours. I don't want some obscure entity pulling the strings behind this antagonist, ending up making said entagonist feel like a joke.
Also, for the conclusion, I'm a sucker for happy ends. The party doesn't have to stay together but if everybody can happily live their lifes I'm in. Throw in a bit of romance, and everything is perfect. I don't dislike a bittersweet note, but I don't need it.
Also: Music, I want to feel hyped fighting the final boss, and the music is an integral part of that.
2.) FFVI: Man, do I hate Kefka. He is not a particularly well written villain. He is bland and one-dimensional. But dude has been toying with me from experimenting on Terra, attacking Figaro, poisoning Cyan's family, and actually succeeding at destroying the world up to that insane boss battle with that banger theme. Also, who never felt the urge to kick a clown's ass?
FFVII: Same, FFVII was my first RPG, and daaaaamn did it feel good kicking Jenova's and Sephiroth's ass after chasing him for almost 80 hours. Especially because he actually killed one of my favorite video game characters. The music during the whole boss gauntlet is out of this world. The ending is kinda bittersweet showing how Nanaki outlives everyone, but he seems happy with his little family, which is alright.
Persona 5 Royal:
I wasn't a huge fan of the Holy Grail in P5. It's one of those gods we need to beat, which randomly appears at the end. I like the idea about the Grails reasoning about the public conscience and people's need for comfort and control, but after Shido, I felt like I was done with the game. But holy hell, did Royal improve on that. The whole ark with Maruki trying to make everyone happy, Sumire's denial and the sweet temptation to sacrifice freedom for comfort is executed so damn well. Royal managed not only to increase the time you need to play the game but to improve vanilla in every single way.
3.) FFIX: Lackluster endboss, amazing ending. I still consider this the GOAT of not only RPGs but video games in general, but the game manages to do everything right up until you beat Kuja, and there's Necron all of a sudden. Guess I'll need to kick his ass to roll the credits. This felt like a chore after the end of the game. But the ending is great. Everybody is happy, and Zidane and Garnet end up together. What else could you want?
Tales of Arise: Looks like this whole sub agrees that the last fourth felt tacked on and barebones. I loved the ending, though. The last picture from the wedding brought tears to my eyes.
Chained Echoes: Contrary to popular belief, I'm not opposed to Kylian redeeming himself, but the boss gauntlet wasn't the greatest. I actually had to google who I had to fight in the end, although it's only been like 4 months since I played the game. Also, Glenn is turning into a bird? I like the freedom bit, but it still feels weird. I wanted him to end up with Lenne through all the hardships they endured through multiple lives.
I'm curious what's your opinion on this topic, so let me know!

2023.06.06 07:13 SomnumScriptor Streamyard Giveaway Tool updated and now functional for multiple spins
Hey, I had a post up a couple of months ago with some issues that there were with the Streamyard Giveaway tool. It wouldn't remove people from the list of names, there was no musical options, but it was the best there was.
I'm happy to say that I was able to use it on Sunday night and it has been updated so that now it will discard a name after you spin so that they cannot get chosen in the next spin. The way that I'm working it with sound is just having it in one window and then using some short recordings that a friend made for me sitting in my Brand's Background Music section and hit them right before drawing. The draws take about 12 seconds, so a 15 second ditty or message work well for it. The only thing I haven't figured out how to get rid of is the Network being included due to the irritating Facebook function of starting the show with a post telling people they should give us stars.
Just wanted to give an update for the people who had been using it and left due to the lack of removing the names as it is otherwise a great tool pulling in names from most places that you can live stream and get comments from.

2023.06.06 07:07 Local-Oil-9607 24 [M4F] Sydney, Australia/Anywhere/Online - Looking to meet my other half
About Me: - My name is David. I’m Chinese but I have been in Sydney for over 20 years. I’m originally from Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China. - I have a Bachelor of Engineering degree majoring in software and I’ve been working for 1.5 years as a software engineer for a NASDAQ company developing slot machine games. - I like late night gaming sessions and karaoke with the boys on Discord. I usually play CSGO or Valorant, but I do prefer single player games as opposed to online comp, such as Genshin Impact and RDR2 because I enjoy the storytelling. - I also like movies and music, however more so towards older classics from the 80s and 90s. My friend introduced me to some romance animes and I got to say, they are really something else. - I try to hit the gym about twice a week, would like to go more but I’m just too busy with work sometimes. - I grew up as a Christian and I’m trying my best to live by God’s teachings. - I’m ISFJ on the MBTI system if that matters. - I’m 178cm/5’10” in height.
I like to consider myself to be a hopeless romantic, probably because of all the romance movies I watch! I have previously only been on 1 date, I was super nervous and given my shy and introverted nature, you can imagine how well that went… I tried my luck in dating apps like Hinge and Bumble but they’re just a waste of time tbh. I did manage to strike up a date from Hinge, but I was stood up and I never heard back from her again. I don’t usually go out for late nights to bars and clubs, but I love to try new things so if you know a place, maybe you can teach me how to live a little? During the week I’m either at work, home, or gym. So all in all, here I am!
I’m looking for a long term relationship, someone who I can have deep chats with, someone I can see myself growing with, and we are both caring and kind towards each other. If anyone is interested in the Sydney area, I’d love for a chance to chat and get to know you, maybe even a meet up for coffee and see how it goes from there. Or similarly, if you have any advice or some past dating stories, I’d love to hear them too! That’s it from me for now, thank you for reading this all the way to the end, I hope you have a wonderful day!

2023.06.06 07:04 daskittycat Recommendations for areas to live
I’m being relocated from Florida to SF for work. I’ve done some research and see the typical “best areas to live in SF,” but when I look into these places, a lot are dense tourist areas— which is fine! But some tourist areas are better or worse than others. So I’m looking for insight on which places are in fact suitable areas to live.
I don’t enjoy driving much, and like walking around and living among the town. So not looking for suburbs. In FL, I live in a small beach town in a big city with a strong community culture with dining, bars, and local stores where I can reach everything I could possibly need within a 5-20min bike/ Onewheel ride. Community events/markets and live music every weekend. Surf, bike trails, walking trails, fishing spots, and parks are how I spend my time outdoors, while indoors I do ceramics, various other crafts and cook.
From a local’s perspective, is there an area of the city that would be suitable to move to where I will feel safe and be able to explore?

2023.06.06 07:03 nodrunkjackiechanplz WIBTA if I told my neighbours right by my window to STFU with their party?
Generally the noise comes from the storage mart across the way, these neighbours aren’t normally loud. But it is a rooming house, since they’ve gotten two older ladies and a young daughter in they’ve been pretty chill. But it’s mainly young men and they are obnoxious, there’s about 15 dudes, mostly friends of the young men who live there, partying on their shitty deck outside. They’ve got a huge light pointed right at my window and they’re stomping, screaming, and blasting the most obnoxious Indian bass heavy music. I can hear everything.
Would I be the asshole if in like, 30 mins (it’s currently 1am), I go out and ask them if they know it’s a Monday night and to politely STFU? Yes I’m frustrated because I’m dealing with noise from a secondary place most days of the week too so yeah I’m probably taking it out on them a bit. And police or 311 do not respond to noise complaints, I have tried.
If it were a Friday or Saturday or holiday I would not care. But this bitch has to work tomorrow. I am a little scared, I’ve never confronted people about this sort of thing, and it is like 15 dudes and I’m a small woman. I’d just open my back door, talk to them (it’s very close) and yeah. Idk. Who throws full on parties on a Monday night???

2023.06.06 06:52 MizuDarius 14" M1 Pro, 16" M1 Pro, or 14" M2 Pro
I need help for this one. Been a Windows user all my life, until now that I finally have extra money to spend on this. I'm doing all sort of multimedia task. Video editing using Resolve, photo editing using Lightroom and Photoshop, and music producing using FL Studio.
All models on title are the 16/512 models. Been seeing review that the improvement on performance is only 20% and that the M2 Pro SSD is generally worse (idk how much it will impact my usage).
I live in Indonesia, the price is 26.757.000IDR (around 1800USD) for the 14" M1 Pro, 30.085.000IDR (around 2030USD), and 29.500.000IDR (around 1990USD) for 14" M2 Pro.
The difference between 14" M1 Pro 16/512 and 32/1TB model here are 14.000.000IDR (around 950USD) that's why I didn't include it here.
Any help will be useful. This is my first post on reddit so if I do something wrong please tell me, thanks!

2023.06.06 06:49 FervantSkate363 Has “The Cost of Living” already been ruled out to not be the artist of “Everyone Knows That”?
For context a user on
watzatsong found an album titled
“Comic Book Page” by “The Cost of Living”. The album was released in 1989 (Which fits the timeline since it’s speculated “Everyone Knows That” was released in the 80s) and has a song titled “Ulterior Motives”. If the unknown song really is called “Ulterior Motives” than The Cost of Living could very well be the artist. When listening to their songs they have similar sounds. Not only in voices but in the instruments and how the music is being played. When you listen to
this song the singing is similar to the sound of
this version of “Everyone Knows That”. However, this is not the version everyone knows of and is detuned around 1 semitone and 17 cents. So one of them is the original and one of them is not. I also went to a vintage music store to find the album. They said they have had the album before in the past, so I put my name down so they can call or text me when they get it in. The bad thing is I still have no idea if “The Cost of Living” made “Everyone Knows That”.
Possible lyrics: You're counting all the sheep in the sky, Caught up in your world of lies, Everyone knows that, Shes got ulterior motives, Tell me the truth, Every move shows, (Cuts off there)

2023.06.06 06:49 LucyAriaRose AITA for yelling at my grandson?
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is u/VillageCrazyMan. He posted in
AmItheAsshole Trigger Warning: Verbal Abuse Mood Spoiler: I mean it's sad but OOP is wholesome af Original Post: May 23, 2023 Hello. I, James, male 58, am in some hot water with my family and thought this would be a good place to get a neutral opinion. My grandson, I'll call him Henry, male 27, often comes with me to play golf. We've been doing this since he was a child and it's a tradition that we hold at least twice a month. Recently, he's started bringing his girlfriend, I'll call her Georgia, a 25-year-old girl. She doesn't usually play with us, which is fine. She often sits in the golf cart and reads or listens to music and gives us snacks and drinks when we ask. She's a nice girl who I approve of my grandson being with, but there's only one problem. Henry often talks down to her, belittling her intelligence and sometimes just making fun of her. It makes me uncomfortable and I can see on her face that she doesn't like it, but she never says anything.
We went to a party recently for one of my other grandkids, and Georgia came. Once again, Henry started belittling her, calling her stupid and telling her "not to fill up her plate too much." I pulled him aside and out of the room and told him that he needed to be nicer to Georgia. I admit I went off a bit and raised my voice, but I didn't realize how much I raised it. I was apparently yelling at him for about 10 minutes and then left. A lot of people heard and asked him what happened but he just left with Georgia. The day after the party, his parents, my daughter, and her husband, told me that it was none of my business what was going on in Henry's relationship and that I needed to apologize for trying to wedge myself in. They keep calling me asking for an apology but I don't want to. AITA? I think I might be because I embarrassed my grandson in front of our family.
Edit: I admit, I lied about our ages. I'm not comfortable putting our real ages here but when I didn't put it in the first draft of this post it was deleted, so I just picked some random numbers. I'm sorry for any confusion this caused anyone, I didn't think it was a big deal.
Relevant Comments: Is this a learned behavior? "I have no idea where he could have learned this behavior. I lived with the three of them for a few months a few years ago and his father treated my daughter perfectly and vis versa. I've always tried to make an effort to show him how to treat women and show his mother how she should be treated, as did my wife. I'm assuming maybe a friend or group of friends encourage this."
Why was she there with you two? "She actually started coming more and more because I asked for her to. I grew up in the country and she in the city so I enjoy her stories, and she's overall a nice young lady, so it's more my fault that she was there."
Why lie about your age? "I'm just a little apprehensive about sharing my personal information. I'll give you a hint though: I'm old."
OOP is voted NTA Update Post (Same Post): May 30, 2023 (1 week later) Hello everyone, James here again. I wanted to say thank you for all the advice on what to do. Quite a bit has happened since this all happened and I think you'd all be interested. I spoke to Henry and apologized for yelling at him. I realized that I'd never raised my voice at him before this incident, so I understood why he was so shaken up about it. But I also explained that I wasn't sorry for what I said and that he needs to be nicer to Georgia. But apparently, he won't have that chance. Georgia left him, which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to having her as a granddaughter one day, but I suppose this is the best outcome for her. Me and her had lunch earlier this week and she thanked me for standing up for her. After speaking with my grandson and his parents, I realized something. He may not have learned that behavior from his father but from his mother. I thought I had raised her better than that, but she talks down to her own husband and makes jabs at him. I'm not sure how I had not noticed it before, but I guess it never really occurred to me that abuse can be more than hitting or could be from a woman, but I'm educating myself about it. But I talked to her about that and she's convinced that it's ok. I explained to her that it's not and Henry is learning from her. I haven't gotten through to her yet, but I will keep trying. Thank you all for your advice and kind words.
I'd also like to apologize again for the whole ages debacle. I'm a little paranoid about putting my age or any personal information online or on a website, so I usually lie. When I tried to leave out the ages before, the post was deleted, so I just made something up, I guess I should have picked better and more realistic ages.

2023.06.06 06:45 uglyaniiimals Looking for some new wireless headphones in the $50-$75 range
hey y'all ! title should be pretty self explanatory -- for context i've tried the soundcore q20, which i thought was generally good but were uncomfortable to wear for longish periods and started straight up falling apart after a couple years, and the phillips ph805 which fixed those two issues but was plagued with constant mechanical gremlins during the less than 6 month time i owned them and had some bafflingly bad design decisions
i'm mainly gonna be using these for listening to music (my tastes are pretty all over the place but i have a soft spot for atmospheric / dreamy indie) with a side of mixing / mastering, as i'm a musician who has been getting into the production side of things some. i'm also autistic and have sensory issues so noise cancelling would be nice (esp multiple levels of it) but is something i can live without. i could be swayed in either direction in terms of open vs closed back, though one thing i struggle with when producing music is getting something to sound good on both headphones and speakers and was wondering if open back headphones might help with that some
oh and i'm assuming basically all bluetooth headphones come with a cord so they can be used as wired headphones if need be, but if any bluetooth headphones aren't able to be used this way then that would be a dealbreaker for me since garageband isn't compatible with bluetooth
thanks !!!

2023.06.06 06:30 sadgirl8922 How to not feel awkward at building hot tub... Female
So.... there is an outdoor hot tub in my building. I try to use it everyday. When it's empty everything's cool. I can listen to a good podcast, mediation video, or music and I can unwind and relax.
I am a female by the way. I've got big boobs and usually wear a bikini.
Other times there are people in there usually friend groups, or couples... maybe a few people might be alone. But when it's occupied things get awkward and it kills the experience for me. I end up leVing with anxiety which sucks.
I am not really going there to socialize with my neighbors, or meet new people because I have already decided the place I live isn't really a place I fit in all that well.
I wouldn't mind meeting a hot guy if it happens (just broke up with my BF) but again.. my primary purpose is to use it as a moment of relaxation, distressing and unwinding.
What are some things I can do to feel less awkward when other people are there... because they usually stare at me. And it's a bit annoying.
( they probably wonder why an attractive female is alone ? In the hot tub all the time. I assume... who knows.)
But there were two guys sitting across from me today. They were actually quite cute. But I just became so anxious the whole time they were sitting across from me and turned away from them and was on my phone the whole time trying to hide the fact I was feeling so anxious. I'm a terrible flirt.
What are some things I can do in the hot tub when I'm alone to look like less of a wierdo.
I have been bringing my airpods, phone, now thinking of a wine tumblr... etc.
Please help lol.

I want to have a family and kids so if that isn’t for you no problem, it isn’t for everyone!
A quick breakdown of things I like:

I love sharing playlists or being excited to talk about artists we both love etc. My favorite genres would include (but are not limited to); Rock, Metal, EDM, Punk, Musicals. What are some of your favorites? Top 3 artists?

2023.06.06 06:25 the_prophecy_is_true TIFU by underestimating the sun.
So, I don’t live in a very sunny place - at least a place where it’s too cold to sunbathe. I’m not used to spending hours relaxing on the beach or reading a book under the hot sun. So, expectedly, I have no frame of reference on how to tan my body - all I know is that after the first sunburn, I tan excellently.
For years I’ve been attempting to perfect my tanning technique by avoiding the initial burn and only staying in the sun for a bit at a time to build up my tolerance. So, when I ended up in the Carolinas for a vacation on the sea, I attempted that technique, and in a mixture of hubris, pride, stupidity, laziness, forgetfulness, etc., I didn’t apply sunscreen. Oops. BIG oops.
So, after a quick dip in the ocean, I relax on my beach chair to read a chapter of my book. I only end up spending an hour in the noonday sun, either reading or listening to music, and when I look down at my chest, it still looks pretty darn pale.
A while later I end up dipping into a hot tub, only to find that when the water reaches my waistline, it becomes excruciatingly hot. Once I finally get myself used to the heat, I look down to see red. Pure red. It looked like a firetruck somehow crossed with chest hair and nipples! Turns out I burned myself so badly that some of the Floridians I was staying with considered it one of the worst they’d ever seen.
I am in pain…
TL;DR - Forgot sunscreen on a sunny day, forgot how to sunbathe, and now I am a lobster.
