The many, many action sequences are spectacularly conceived and executed, including a car chase on the Williamsburg Bridge that’s probably still tying up downtown traffic.

Variety:

There’s a bombast built into the material, but let it be said that the “Transformers” movies have been transformed. They’re no longer the kind of fun you have to hate.

Deadline:

Rise of the Beast is another generic story about an intergalactic menace from the sky carries all the plot predictability of a broken clock.

The Wrap:

Where Bay’s movies where incoherent messes that necessitated heaps of migraine meds, Caple Jr. actually manages to pull off something articulate and rousing with “Rise of the Beasts,” thanks in large part to the ever-relatable presences of Fishback and Ramos, and a parting note that’s just witty enough in its suggestion of a bigger universe.

IGN (7/10):

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts proves that the Transformers franchise is accelerating in the right direction, delivering solid Autobots action and a solid voice cast behind the infamous robots in disguise.

Slash Film (5/10):

There are bursts of inspiration here and there, such as when the plot shifts to Peru and suddenly takes on an "Indiana Jones" flavor (which, annoyingly, the characters can't help but comment upon) or when an early horror-tinged sequence puts a new spin on the famous "Raptors in the kitchen" scene from "Jurassic Park." But such joys don't arrive consistently enough to make this venture worthwhile.

Coming back to the world of robots in disguise, the bar is basically “Please don’t suck.” And we’re happy to report Transformers: Rise of the Beasts does not suck. It’s actually quite entertaining, especially for a Transformers movie.

The Film Verdict:

Gives you some people to care about, sprinkled among the clanging heavy machinery that remains the real star of the series.

Blu-ray.com (8/10):

Returns “Transformers” to bigness with a fresh set of players, creating a successful sequel and quite an entertaining viewing experience.

“MOM!” I screamed till my lungs held no air and my throat bled, I raced across the field and grasped the sheet metal roof with my entire palm, cutting my flesh and shredding my skin against the hot sharp edges. I pulled with all my might, raising the roof barely an inch before I collapsed in tears and reached for my moms hand. Her eyes were cloudy and tears ran down her face. “Its ok my son, its all gonna be ok, you need to find your father now” I nodded and wrapped my arms around her head “Ill be right back mama, dad can get this off of you, im sure of it” A jeep raced by and stopped with a screech as the tires left small skids along the tarmac, the base captain stood up from the drivers seat and screamed to me “Lets go! We gotta get you outta here” I leapt into the back sat and clung to the pole, standing atop the back seat as the captain slammed his foot against the pedal and raced across the runway. “No good on the escape cap, I gotta get my dad, my moms trapped under the barracks” He looked back at me for a second and I looked down to him, my hair flowing in the wind and sweat pouring down, mixing with the blood that ran down my cheek. “Good god kid how are you even standing right now?” I veered and scanned the horizon, my eyes falling upon a set of distant lights dancing across the sky. I pointed up to the darker of the two massive vehicles that were locked in mid air combat “Up there, thats dads machine, whos he fighting?” The base captain looked up and leaned forward squinting his eyes and falling silent as he did. He stopped the jeep and sat there, mouth open, eyes glued to the sky. I shook him and repeated the question. “Yo, theres no time for this, who is that?” The captain shook his head and spoke calmly “Theres plenty of time kid, none of us are surviving this…here” He reached down and grabbed a folder from the passenger glovebox, the wind flipping the top as he handed me the bundle of papers. I flipped through until I recognized a file photo. It was almost the exact same design as my fathers machine, the most powerful in the world, but it was darker, and there had been a skull painted on the visor of the mechs gigantic head. It held a long flat edged blade and from the look of the picture, it was taken only seconds before the gory demise of whoever took it. “So the reapers made his way to american shores. So what? This changes nothing. Dad can take him” I leapt out of the jeep and made a beeline for the nearest hangar as the captain shouted from behind me “Hey kid! Get back here, what the hell do you think youre doing?” I barreled into the hangar doors, taking no time to feel the pain my shoulder was now in from having smacked the thick metal door. I wrenched with all my might and threw open the rolling entrance shutter. The lights flickered on as the eyes of my own machine stared back at me, offline and still in desparate need of repair “Im getting in, no time for chitchat captain I need you to give me startup” He shook his head as he leapt out of the jeep and walked toward me “Youre only 11, getting in that machine could kill you, or worse it could actually start up and become a big ass metal coffin. Do you think your parents would want that?” I spoke under my breath for a moment “Better a metal coffin covered in weapons then a wooden one covered in bullshit” He huffed at me “God where do you get this nerve…Oh wait…right…son of the admiral…Alright screw it, were dead either way, get up in the cockpit” I smiled at him and pulled myself into the chest high compartment, sitting in the seat and buckling the main cross belt. “Strapped in captain, starting sequence, can you disconnect me?” He nodded and sprinted around the back of the machines tall legs, pulling the various diagnostic cables and wrenching the stilts from its knees. I looked at the gaff tape I had put inside, following the sequence I had mapped out when i first got the machine, switching the core on and letting the fans spin up. The captain yelled over the noise as the machine whirred to life and stood up. I heard his voice come through the internal speakers “Damn, guess your repairs actually got somewhere. Listen, your internal batteries only good for about 15 minutes, get your mom and then swing back here, if you want any semblance of a chance then youre gonna need a rechar-” I pushed the gears forward and exploded out of the hangar, banking right and hitting the air brakes. The machine flipped forward and threw the wings into gear, sending me rocketing across the tarmac, now 100 tons heavier and 2000 times stronger. I slid to a stop next to my home barracks and knelt down, letting the scanners pinpoint my mother and allowing the hydraulics ample time to adjust before gently grabbing the roof of the building, and pulling up slowly. The captains jeep screeched to a halt next to me as he raced from the car and knelt down beside my mother. He inspected her body for a moment before falling to his knees entirely. I threw the roof and opened the hatchway, launching out of the cockpit and hitting the ground hard next to them. “Shes ok right?” The captain shook his head and put his hand on my shoulder, the smoke stung my eyes as the various fires filled the air with toxic fumes. “There wouldnt have been anything to do, she took too much force from the collapse, im sorry” I shook my head as tears flowed from my eyes “Shes just fucking with us. Mom! Wake up! Youre funny like this but nows not the time weve gotta go and help dad” I shook her shoulders, first gently, then more forcefully as I tried to wake her. I flipped her and her glossy lifeless eyes stared at the sky, still crying. “Shes gone kid, im so sorry” I let out a sob as I knelt down and put my head on her chest “Its not your fault, its mine, I shouldnt have left her, we should have never been attacked” He put a hand on my shoulder and gently rubbed my back “I should have been more aware, im the captain here, its my job to be aware” I rose and gently put my palm over her eyes, closing them with my hand and taking a deep breath through stifled sobs. “You do your best, all the time, its why we respect you. I need you to watch after my mom now, I need to go help dad make sure this doesnt happen to anyone else” He stood up and put his hands up, pushing me back softly and speaking in a low tone “No way kid, you need to grieve, i cant let you back in there in the condition youre in, Ill pilot, or ill call reinforcements, youll be no match” I smiled and moved past him “Id rather bite it in the sky with my dad then sit here and stare at my mom, I cant idle captain” He nodded and bit his lip in thought “Ok…ok…then maybe I can help better. Here, face me” I turned toward him and took a deep breath “We dont have time for this man come o-” He yelled “Face me soldier” I turned fully and stood at attention, my face inquisitive “Ok, ok, what” He brought his hand up to his torso “Ensign Rath, repeat after me and follow suit” I brought my hand up to my own torso and made a fist just as he did “Yes sir” He smiled wide and spoke with authority “I, Ensign Rath” I nodded and repeated “I Ensign Rath” “Accept the rank of Lieutenant O3” I smiled wide and nodded “Accept the rank of Lieutenant O3” He nodded and continued “And vow to use the weapons this rank has been assigned to take on the greatest of threats” The plan clicked in my mind and I continued to follow suit “And vow to use the weapons this rank has been assigned to take on the greatest of threats” As I finished he saluted me and spoke solemnly “It is with great honor and harrowing guilt that I now present you the rank of Lieutenant O3 in the united states naval defense office. I present you with temporary access to the associated weapons in upgrades, and I now release you into the arms of whichever god you so worship, Suit up, and fight like the warrior spirits that have fallen before you” I shook his hand and nodded, feeling pride replace my guilt as I saluted and turned toward my machine. I leapt into the cockpit and stood tall, the captains voice came over my internal speaker “Im heading to valhalla, Hit the skies and get in the fight, ill send a support pack in 2 minutes with 2 hours of extended run time and all the other things youll need to throw down alongside your father. This bases continued operation now relies on the two of you, I know youve had limited training, and some of the controls might even be too far for you to operate properly, but youre a warrior now” I took off into the air, engaging my thrusters and cutting through the clouds like a fiery razor. As rain hit my screen and the distant clap of thunder rolled through, I scanned the surroundings for my father and his machine. I didnt have to look long till he barreled into me while recovering from a glancing blow. “RATH WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING UP HERE” My fathers booming voice shook my brain and rattled my core “Im here to support” He raised his shield and deflected another swing from the reaper, filling the sky with sparks as the flat blade cut across his defense “Get out of here now, where is your mother?” I fell silent as he grabbed my machine with his own and jetted away “Rath! Answer me, why isnt she watc-” I heard him realize, I could feel his heart sink as we stopped in the midst of an anvil cloud, and i could barely see his form in front of me. When a pilot takes his hands off the controls, the machine typically centers its arms to avoid unintended movement, and I could only see the silhouette of his wings as a deep breath came over my intercom “Im so sorry my son, I should have been down there” I shook my head and spoke softly “Then wed all be dead pops, just like the captain you were doing your job as best as you could. Weve got all the time in the world to mourn later, but right now weve gotta make sure this bastard cant pave the way for his friends” I felt the support pack collide with my machine and the cockpit lit up bright as I watched my uptime increase “You make a fair point son, alright, normally id tell you to hit the ground but today I suppose we'll make an exception. Did you receive proper clearance?” The packs armor crawled along my frame and locked in, covering the various dents and scrapes that had been so characteristic of my mech. The improved wings swung into place and I heard the lift fans spin to max. I moved my throttles forward and emerged from the cloud, the full shroud of my machine now dispersed and the new world open to me. “0-3 lieutenant Rath reporting for duty sir, happy to serve alongside you” He spoke calmly “Congratulations my son, your mother would be beyond proud” I reached behind me and remove the tall mace that came standard with almost all lieutenant support packages, but as the flat bulky blade came into view, I noticed a strange sigil on the shielding of the weapon. “Hey dad, any clue what this thing is?” I turned the mace toward him and he flew close “A gift from your mother, you werent supposed to see it for several years but it seems she finished it early. It was a sort of bug that used to be all over the place around here…called a butterfly. You loved them as a baby” I nodded and smiled “Ok, I wanna use this gift for a long time, you think we can beat this guy?” He huffed “Me and you? Were gonna turn him into a monument and stick his armor on display for the world to see” The sky split with lightning as the reaper crossed our paths and came to a stop just a few hundred yards away. As his machines deadly red eyes glowed antithesis to the bright morning sky, a foreign voice filled my cockpit. It held a thick baltic accent, and I knew it could only belong to one man. “You armor is shiny, new, you are young, inexperienced. I let you live, you escape, you till your friends, I kill you later, once you make others fear me” When I had built my machine, I had done so from scratch. I had added and removed things I felt would make me stronger then others, and while I was no heavier due to improved armor, I had still clocked in as the fastest machine in history. The rotors in my arms couldnt survive more then a few hits, the joints in my wrist werent durable enough to deliver full power trikes, but the engines that drove me could surpass all known aircraft and every recorded vehicle in land or air. “Come kill me now, I wanna see your face when I cut your armor in two” He grunted loudly and screamed at me as he flashed across the sky, drawing his blade and splitting the sunlight with speed. I held still and took a deep breath, before swinging, making contact with his arm and spinning mid air. I watched as the skull icon shattered beneath my mace and the sword glanced well below my feet. My father followd the strike with his own mace and drove his engines forward, propelling them both back into the lower sky. I tailed close behind, remembering the eyes of my mother as life escaped her body. With tears in my eye I screamed back “Youl pay today, and youll go broke!” I swung again and again as my father drove the two mechs faster and faster. I pulled the head from the reaper as my father pummeled it. I held it by a braid of cables and met my father in the air over and over. We blocked blows and chipped away, moving faster and faster as my arms grew sore and my voice grew hoarse.I felt my fathers full strength meet my own as we punched at the same time. My mechanical fist shattered inside the reapers torso and I heard a scream as his comms went silent. We watched together as his armor fell from the sky and exploded upon impact, sending a shockwave across the surface as the sound of the boom finally reached us. “Son, take her in for a landing, I know that seemed quick but youre most likely nearing your suits limit” I looked at my counter and noticed a dark red second screen, I had 1 minute and 45 seconds so I turned the engines off and entered a freefall, plummeting toward the earth before pulling them full plast and hovering just above the bases concrete landing pads. I watched my father gracefully swing downward and rocket toward the ground, spinning his feet once he hit the grass and disengaging his wings. His machine came to a halt just a few feet from his designated hanger and I dropped my own armor the ground, kneeling and leaping from the cockpit as i did so. I collapsed as I hit the pavement and my father came running over. He caught me before I could hit the ground and held me up by my arm. He was bloodier then I was but still moving with unparalleled strength. I coughed as he helped me hobble toward the runway before the captain parked next to us in his jeep and helped get me into the seat. My father sat in the passenger seat and leaned his head back, closing his eyes as I did the same. “You did good today son, get some rest and well take care of everything, youre too young for all of this, I'm so sorry” I took a deep breath and curled up in the back seat “Me too dad…me too”

I’m a MB looking for some advice! We have an incredible nanny. She’s been with us for over 5 years, and we have a good relationship. She’s like part of the family, and she told me she looks at me as a big sister. 🥹 I pay her more than the typical high hourly rates for the neighborhood. I also try to be generous with benefits. We live in one of the HCOL cities in the US, and I also have multiple small children/babies. My nanny has a difficult job, and deserves every penny she gets. I try my best to take care of her, as she’s taking care of my most prized possessions!
In our community, lots of families have Nannies. A lot of our friends are also NPs. A lot of the nannies are also friends. They often coordinate outings or play dates for their NKs.
My nanny works typical business hours, but there’s times when I need childcare in the evening or on the weekends.I offer these overtime shifts to nanny first. Most of time she declines, which I totally support. We have family nearby that enjoys watching the kids in this situation. Occasionally we need to find someone else to babysit. Nanny recommended her nanny friend, Jane. I’ve actually chatted with Jane at the park many times. I’m also friends with Jane’s MB. I felt comfortable with Jane, and she took great care of my kids.
I booked Jane for a shift, and she gave me her babysitting rates, and it was pretty low for the area. I ended up paying Jane over her rate. She was so excited and couldn’t believe i was paying her so much. It was sweet how appreciative she was. A few days later I saw her at the park, and she started asking about when she could babysit again. I told her I didn’t have any specific plans, but would call her if I needed her. She seemed a little disappointed, but accepted that answer and moved on. Then Jane texted me several asking if I could give her any hours. I again told her that if I needed her, I’d let her know. Then she tried calling, but I let it ring to voicemail. She was crying on the voicemail and talking about how badly she needed the money. This behavior was slowly ramping up. I saw her when I was out and about with the kids. She then asked if we have considered hiring a weekend nanny. I was so caught off guard, and told her that weekends are family days.
Today Jane saw my nanny at a music class. Of course Jane asked her about getting more hours in our home. My nanny shut that down and asked Jane to take it up with me. According to my nanny, they got busy with the kids. Then about 30 minutes later, Jane started asking my nanny about her pay and benefits. My nanny told Jane she’s not comfortable discussing wages & money. I only know this because nanny found this interaction to be very strange, and wanted to report the conversation to me. Later on in the evening, Jane again texted my nanny and asked for help getting hours. My nanny didn’t respond, so Jane texted an hour later to “remind” nanny to talk to me.
I got a call from my friend/Jane’s MB. Jane called her crying and hysterical about money. Jane admitted that she’s recent racked up a few credit cards, and couldn’t believe that racked up around $10k by taking a month long trip to Europe (she bought also bought an expensive purse in France). Apparently Jane thought that she could babysit my kids enough to pay for her debts. My MB friend explained that she cannot blame her poor planning & money management on anyone but herself. (Side note: Jane makes a good wage on par with the market in our areas. She only has 1 child to watch. ) At the end of the call, Jane asked if her MB could “pull some the strings to help her get any other babysitting jobs or a side gig.
This whole situation is super uncomfortable. Obviously Jane isn’t going to babysit for me again. She was good with the kids, but I wouldn’t go through this drama about her needing hours. She’s so entitled that she feels like I owe her a babysitting job. Keep in mind that Jane is a grown woman in her late 30’s. I feel horrible that this has affected other people. Now my nanny wants to socially distant herself from Jane. My MB friend is fed up with the drama, and is considering finding other childcare.
What should I do regarding all the calls & texts from Jane? I’ve told her nicely but firmly that there’s no shifts for her right now. I’ve even asked her to please stop contacting me. It’s like to refuses to acknowledge the word “no.”Should I just block her number? Or should I just left her text me, and simply not respond. I never imagined there would be this much drama over babysitting. I’m also worried about it being awkward for myself, or my nanny, to see Jane when we’re out and about. I’m concerned about coming off as rude. I don’t want this situation to affect mine, or Nannie’s social lives. Words travel fast around here.

this is a breathing technique that uses the dust from the cosmos, also learning to speak with the cosmos and learn its secrets. the users sword will have the dust of the stars embedded within after learning CREATION NEBULA.
any attack will automatically apply dust to the target, "ONE DUST" is equal to .01ng in weight.

1. star slash: a rapid 5 point slashing technique in the shape of a star ( this technique can be overly mastered to be done while performing other techniques at extreme speeds )

1. cosmic rotation: through the users control of their gravity, rapidly rotating, creates a barrier of star dust that grows in size with rotation speed ( this technique can be overly mastered to create a large force of gravity that pulls in nearby targets hit with stardust )

1. creation nebula: takes the star dust of nearby living things and covers the area attaching to enemies, attaching dust at a rate of ONE dust per second ( this technique can be overly mastered to create a constant nebula dust like mist constantly attaching to all enemies at a rate of 10 dust per second )

1. constellation dash: user dashes to the 3 nearest enemies with dust attached returning to the cast point ( this techinque can be overly mastered to hit 5 enemies and choose the path of the dashes and return point within a wider area than before )

1. forceful equinox: one strong slash that sends a sharp star dust blade from the dust in the sword toward the opponent ( this technique can be overly mastered to be done in a horizontal circle around the user that extends in all directions )

1. dust walk: create dust blocks to run or stand on, only two may be active at one time and the user can teleport to each of them. ( this technique can be overly mastered to have 3 )

1. dark / cosmos expansion: using all dust embedded into enemies, instantly increased the density of the dust to weigh down the opponents ( dark,, this technique can be overly mastered to be done automatically after any dust contact as a passive, thereby turning the dust into small dark dwarf masses)

(in order for the user to use the dark form they must have full mastery of forms 1-5, also having completed and mastered cosmic meditation and been blessed by the cosmos, meaning you have been chosen.

1. dark matter eclipse: retrieves all dust embedded into enemies into the tip of the sword turning the users aura infinitly dark gaining extreme density along with intense gravity, the user then completes a long single slash attack that splits all atoms in half slashing through the dimension of the cosmos.

can only be used after retrieving 100ng's of dust ( dust that has had its density increased will go back to original .01ng weight )

1. dark dwarf execute: activating this ability will create a dark dwarf mass in the sky that removes all light other than the users dust from the surrounding area, increasing the users power based on number of masses able to be formed ( the power gained by each mass is compounding, the first mass will give an

increase of 5% power from the users base, the second will give an increase of 15%/30%/75%/150%/300%. ddif the usersd activates all 6 dark dwarf masses, the user can absorb them, combining their life force with the dark masses turning into the dust of the cosmos, gaining the speed that of light, power to that of an
exploding sun and the gravity to that of a black hole, the user will then die ( from combining life force with the dark mass ) after 10 minutes of use, capable of full power till the end with no fluxuation. the user can create the 6 masses and choose not to obsorb them )

Hi, I have a flight tomorrow departing at 8:16 am from A23 (for now). The problem is that my bus arrives at SLC airport at 6.50 am and I’m looking for advice to quickly go through security since I’ve never been to this airport and I don’t want to miss my flight (I just had layovers, but never actually going through security).
A bit of information: I don’t have bags, just my backpack and I have sky priority but no TSA precheck or global blue.
Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi All, Just for context, I'm a Commercial (ASEL & AMEL) rated pilot. Recently, I had a flight emergency (vast smoke coming from cabin) and i declared an emergency and had landed in the farm fields.
I, another passenger and the aircraft did not incur any damages. My flight school where I rented the aircraft from is blaming my decision to land in fields and said nothing is wrong with the aircraft upon inspection and you should have landed at an airport. I tried my best to securely land at a safe place and I would have not reached nearby airports based on my altitude.
I did meet with the chief pilot and we got into an argument and he questioned my decision and said that no one will hire me in the future. Not only have they canceled my membership from the flight school but have threatened me to involve the law enforcement if they ever see me flying their aircrafts or as a passenger.
Rest assured, I can fly from other flight schools in the area and don't need to fly with them.
I wanted to ask if the chief pilot of the part 61 flight school can mess up my PRIA records?

It was dark, if it wasn't for the fact that I still felt pain, if it wasn't for the fact that I could feel myself being moved, I would have assumed I was dead.
Andreas was a good friend of mine, he and I met during a high school biology experiment, one that was about how blood type was tested. I was O-, and so was he. I remembered how we were the only ones in the class with that blood type, it was probably the strangest foundation for a friendship I'd ever had.
Andreas was, and still remained, my best friend, always sticking by my side even when people tried their damnedest to split us up. Any significant other he had, who demanded he cut me out of his life, he immediately dropped.
"I do not betray my friends." These were always the words he spoke.
I felt a warm hand on mine. I knew who it was, simply because we were out and about, a night on the town, celebrating graduating college. He stepped away just for a moment, just to get some snacks for him and I.
Neither of us could have imagined I was going to get mugged immediately afterward.
The man stabbed me in the gut, I began to bleed out as he rifled through my pockets, I didn't even have my wallet on me, it was completely pointless. I don't really know what happened next, all I knew was he was pressing something against my wound, telling me it was going to be okay.
"Jake." I remembered him say. "I can save you, but there's something you need to know. The life you live will end, there will be no going back."
I don't recall what he said after that, all I remember was mumbling something.
I remembered the feeling of fire in my veins, a heat that spread throughout my body, that brought a kind of agony I hadn't anticipated. But, I was still alive.
"Jake." I opened my eyes to see Andreas looking at me. "It's going to be okay, I'm here for you. We'll make it through this."
I passed in and out of consciousness, yet even in those moments of being dead to the world, I still felt that sensation of fire being injected into my veins, I simply got used to the pain.
I was discharged, once it was clear I wasn't going to die, I just had to be a little careful with my stitches was all. Andreas was quiet the entire drive, every now and then, he looked at me, there was guilt and worry in his eyes.
"It's not your fault." I said.
He didn't respond.
I was a bit surprised when he pulled into his driveway, I'd only been here a few times, back when his family lived in town, before they moved. It was on the edge of a forest, there were miles of land before it crossed into state park territory.
"I'll be fine." Andreas said softly. "He'll be okay."
He wasn't listening to me when I told him things were alright. "After all, I'm pretty sure you were the one who saved my life."
He looked at me. "You don't remember?" He asked, he'd gone pale.
"I mean, unless there was another O- around, you're the most likely one who donated to keep my dying ass alive." I playfully elbowed him. "C'mon, I'm alive, you're alive, that's all that really matters."
"Yeah." He said, nodding. He didn't sound convinced.
If it were anyone else, I'd be extremely concerned, but Andreas had always been a worrywart, always checking to make sure I was alright, always making sure I was healthy.
I always appreciated the effort he took to ensure my comfort.
He set me up in his old room, "It's familiar." He said. "You should be fine in here." I just took his worrying in stride, he'd eventually calm down, he'd apologize for freaking out, and we'd continue, life as usual.
The wound healed, of course, getting the stitches out sucked, but as the doctor said, "You're a quick healer."
Even though I was fine, Andreas insisted I say for a while longer. "I've got a family reunion soon, everyone wants to see you again."
Thus, I stayed.
One night, I just couldn't get to sleep. Andreas was having trouble sleeping as well. "I know it's a bit soon, but d'you want to go on a walk?"
"Yeah." He said. That honestly surprised me, I'd expected him to say, 'absolutely not', but he was calm. We got out the old flashlights and we took the trail, like we used to as kids. Andreas' folks had always insisted on him knowing how to take care of himself, even as teenagers, he knew his way around the woods, even at night, he had this unerring sense of direction, even though I'd get lost easily.
The trail was calm, there were bugs making noises, as usual. After basically being cooped up for weeks, healing and recovering, it felt comforting.
Welcoming.
I remembered this trail as clearly as he did, within moments, we were out in the clearing, the same one that his family held picnics in. It was peaceful, well-lit by the full moon.
"Jake." He said. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry for wha-?"
I felt that fire again, the pain turned my question into a pain cry. I heard the sound of bones creaking, popping and cracking, I watched as Andreas began to change. His fingernails lengthened, grew thicker, just as mine did. Thick hair began to sprout across his body, just as it did for me. His skull shifted and twisted, becoming less human, more lupine. Just like mine.
Oh, shit. That's what he meant.
The pain rocked my body, the fire growing hotter and hotter as I felt like my thoughts were being drowned out by something pained, something angry.
Something primal.
A bloodcurdling growl escaped my lips, as the werewolf my friend had become stood over me. He knelt beside me, his eyes no less wild than the instincts raging within me. I lashed out when he reached for me, my claws slicing through his flesh with far more ease than I expected, the parallel slashes slowly and visibly knitting together.
He took hold of me, I could smell a sweet, earthy aroma emanating from him, and I felt myself beginning to calm. He raised his head to the sky and led out a piercing howl, one that I couldn't resist the urge to join in on, followed by many more.
Werewolves, at least a dozen of them, entered the clearing, all of them gathering around us, around me. Clawed hands reached out and touched me, soft tongues licked my fur, at least two actually hugged me.
Andreas let go of me as the other Werewolves began to head toward the forest, he started after them, then looked back and gestured for me to follow.
I did.
I can't describe the sense of joyous freedom I felt, running through the forest with them. I was awkward, tripping over myself, but they never outran me, they were always ready to help me up before we continued running.
One of them startled a deer from its hiding place, and pure instinct took over as I chased after, our barking filled the night as we chased it down.
I was the one that tackled it, I was the one who bit down on its throat, swallowing the chunk of meat I tore free without hesitation. I felt proud of my kill, felt satisfied as they joined in, until there was only bone and blood, and even then, we picked apart the skeleton, chewing on the bones.
When we started moving again, I followed without hesitation, and was surprised when we found our way to the clearing once more.
That wave of heat overwhelmed me once more, as the sun began to rise, and within minutes, I was sat on the ground, back to human.
I looked back, the Werewolves were still in wolf form, except Andreas, who was just as naked as I was.
"They can't change back." He said. "The more you transform, the more you change, the more remains. There comes a point where you just have to embrace the change, let it remain." He gently scratched behind the Werewolves' ears, they leaned into his touch, each one hugged him, gave his face a lick, before they ran back into the wild.
"This is permanent." I said.
He nodded. "I told you, but you must not have been in your right mind." He looked at me. "You consented, but I made the choice to give my blood to you. I made the choice to save your life, not knowing if you really understood." He approached me and hugged me. "I'm sorry."
I hugged him back. "I don't mind." I said. "To be honest, I used to wish Werewolves were real so I could join them, so there's that dream come true."
He laughed at my blatant lie. "Please, you couldn't stand to be around a normal dog, let alone a wolf." He let go and rest his hands on my shoulders. "We've got around sixty years to live as Humans, though, around the forty year mark, we'll need to be careful." He paused. "Also, do not go to a furry convention. You were safe because we were there, without guidance, you would have been a feral man-killing beast. Understood?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I understand."
He smiled. "Alright. Let's get back and eat some breakfast."
He got into a bag I hadn't noticed, pulled out some spare clothes, and tossed them to me. Once dressed in somewhat oversized clothes, we headed back.
In spite of the fear I had felt, I was okay with this.

Hopefully it’s alright to post this (I made a question post asking about it). It’s nothing major but I think it was very awesome to experience.
Something to add (idk if it makes any difference really) but last night before I went to sleep I saw the angel number “333” on my phone.
THE EXPERIENCE - I had multiple lucid dreams last night, waking up between them. At one point I had woken up, and began to “think” as I fell back asleep. I was walking in a parking lot with my girlfriend to get into our car, as soon as I got into the car (passenger side) I became lucid. One of the first things I did was look out the window at the sky, which was a cool/dark blue with a few clouds. I thought to myself “that’s a pretty rare color” and I continued through the dreams. As I woke up I told my friend group about how I had some lucid dreams and then I wrote about them in my journal. Later when my girlfriend got home from work we went to the grocery store (which we hadn’t discussed going whatsoever, nor had I thought about it as I was going to sleep last night) as we were about to pull into the parking lot, I looked at the sky and was a little shocked, the sky’s color was exactly how it was in my lucid dream, the only thing that was different was the clouds, which were still very similar, and I was in the passenger side of the car, which typically I drive half the time so that was a coin flip I guess. I got out of the car once we were in the parking lot and kept thinking about how crazy it was.
First time ever having an experience like this.

Because it's actually ridiculous how often she sends me over there, even if I've never been to that godforsaken pile of shit. I despise having to haul my fat ass to the other side of the park after fast travelling two to three times, fighting through the massive number of enemies each area has, beating some robot ass, then coming back for a measly 200 caps and being sent BACK TO THE FUCKING PARK. I wouldn't have such a problem if she sent me to Far Harbor or something because at least I don't have to fight every step of the way, but why the hell does she consistently send me to Nuka-World?

I figure that it will cost me less if I park at the airport for 5 days than taking an uber to and from the airport. Does anyone have advice if this is good or bad? Was going to us the Economy parking section instead of the garage which is $6 more per day.

It’s been 18 months. 6 figures spent 7 figures lost It’s become 5 trips to rehab. I lost all the vitamin B in my body and lost the ability to walk for two months, my lungs froze over causing pulmonary embolisms and was saved minutes from losing my life. It’s taken away a multi million dollar business. I’ve lost friends, relationships and been arrested. I’ve become hopeless to this shit and I wish I understood.
I’ve come here to post about the reality of using nitrous and the fact we can become addicted to this, it is dangerous and a walk in my shoes is quite the horrid experience.
I drank often, I used most recreational drugs overall was a fun social guy, a business owner and my life was the one I always dreamed of. I would occasionally do a whip it every now again when doing some shrooms and nothing harmful happened. I worked everyday and woke up early and aside from a hangover every now and again I didn’t show signs of a life that was crippled by addiction. I had fun, I had control and I was doing life like any 27 year old who started a successful business and had a high level of income would.
In January of 2022, I found myself in a relationship that made me want to put down the typical party life as my 20’s were closing in. The idea of a family and serious relationship was the fulfillment I had always wanted and naturally I stoped that life of drinking often and blowing down on the weekends.
The night I went to get a vape: (01/29/22)
I quit smoking cigarettes and picked up vaping, normal trend of the millennial and went to pick up an elf bar at a local smoke shop. In a glass case laid out were new 600g galaxy blueberry mango nitrous tanks, I’d actually bought some a few months back called an infusion on Amazon and it tasted like shit (no cream like flavor) and I kept them around for a cheap thrill every now and again on days like my birthday and randomly on weekends. I took them to a festival once.
On this particular night, I was bored and grabbed the new flavor, my girlfriend was out of town and I went home to listen to music, watch key and peel and wah wah wah, whatever.
That evening, I proceeded to return to the smoke shop 4-5 times, it was close to home and for some reason felt harmlessly appealing. I knew no risks of vitamin B and thought okay, that got out of hand onward to tomorrow, back to normal….
Not the case. Over the next two weeks, I had bought out every smoke shop in town of these tanks, I was at a smoke shop at 10am every day and did two of these tanks per hour driving around all day for work. Some days I’d just lay on my ass and blow off my company and lie to my girlfriend about work engagements and my mood became terrible. Addiction started brewing.
02/08/2022 My girlfriend caught on to what I was doing and actually joined me in the fun for a couple days and just looked at my one night like “what the fuck” so I said I’d stop and apologized for even showing her. It felt wrong and I naturally wanted to stop.
02/09/2022 I lied about not being able to make it to dinner and my girlfriend showed up to my house, where I rarely stayed, I stuffed the tanks in the couch and faked some work on my laptop, said I’d meet her at the other apartment we primarily stayed at in an hour. She came back shortly after and the evidence of around 10 tanks on the table, we got into it, I apologized and we went home to the other apartment.
Later that night: I became hard of hearing and felt like ants were all over my body, my stomach swelled, my ankles tripled in size and felt like absolute hell and the function of my digestive system was frozen and I could not use the restroom. Something was wrong. I played it cool in and decided to leave and go home (to do more gas)
I went home and soon after my girlfriend called my family and the initial intervention occurred. She of course made it about her and that’s the day it clicked I needed out but whatever, that’s life.
2/10/2022 I had my best friend take me to the hospital, spilled the beans, they gave me a golytely for a cleanse and said my ct scans showed nothing and of course said “don’t do nitrous”
2/11/2022 - afternoon Went back to hospital as something was wrong, they said the same shit and sent me home with some magnesium citrate. Later that afternoon, I stood up on the couch and fell on my ass and couldn’t walk.
2/11/2022- Night visit I went to a different hospital, 28 year old guy, swollen head to toe, can’t walk and in pain, clearly entering the early phases of psychosis. I finally got a brilliant doctor, at a different hospital.
Almost 0 vitamin B in body Multiple large pulmonary embolisms in my lungs headed for the heart. Water retention from nerve damage head to toe. Everything appeared bright and I was clearly experiencing a mental health issue from the use. ANA positive (autoimmune markers)
Admission to hospital neurological floor.
I went nuts at the hospital and turned into the biggest asshole you’ve ever met. Disrespectful, not thankful, fighting every nurse and doctor to leave and go use.
2/14 missed Valentine’s Day. Not good
2/15 left hospital.
My life was saved that night. It wasn’t good enough as for the next two weeks I’d shoot myself up with vitamin b everyday and drag my ass to a smoke shop in a walker.
At this point February was closing in, I was using 10-15 tanks a day, lying, not working and having interventions once a week.
This behavior continued until March 18th and I finally went to a local detox center, not knowing anything about recovery I quickly AMA’D called them losers and left.
My relationship ended March 27th (I was walking with crutches at this time) My girlfriend never visited me at the hospital, tried to hide I was struggling. Encouraged me drinking on meds that combined with alcohol would kill me. Our relationship was toxic. I was in active addiction and she was terrible to me before and after this nitrous hell consumed me. It was for the best we ended. I was however in psychosis and absolutely a terror in the breakup. I regret my actions often for that.
In the next few days I wrecked a few cars, made a few scenes, probably did about 80 tanks of galaxy gas and waved the white flag for rehab.
04/01/22 I went to treatment in California for 10 days. Most expensive rehab in the country and no one knew shit about inhalants. I didn’t know shit about recovery and too conceited at the time to do any real research.
Beautiful place, I however left on 6 new fun medications, broke, psychologically misdiagnosed and obviously got drunk at the airport.
04/11/22 I’m home, back to 12-15 tanks a day. Debt piling up, trying to fake that I’m fine. Losing touch, cars wrecked uncontrollably using.
I was able to hide it well in some respects and I was counteracting the effects. This went well into May.
May comes around,
At this point I’m taking out loans to keep my business afloat, I had to trade all my vehicles in on a lease. The business is on thin ice. Layoffs are happening, projects are being delayed and or terminated. Headed for a cliff.
05/15/2022 I’m hitting a tank in the driveway of my house and floor my car and slam into a retaining wall. A true wake up call. I decided to call for help that day, learn about recovery in more detail and find a rehab in my state and get real help. I discovered the healthcare marketplace and got new insurance. I decided to go to treatment for 30 days on June 1st.
06/01/22 I went to rehab. Terrible place, terrible food, left on 11 medications and honestly It was a blurry time.
06/21/22 I was discharged due to the facility needing a bed and they said “I had this” I left not even knowing what aftercare was. My business partner disowned me at this point, gave up and filed bankruptcy.
06/22/22 Galaxy tanks up to 15 a day. Getting credit cards and just throwing them away. Time to trash credit and pawn shit for the next couple weeks. At this point I’m on my parents couch. My house was gutted from a renovation I had started and obviously unable to continue to work on it and barely making payments.
06/28/22 I found an iop and stayed sober for 5 months. I found CA and AA outside of a treatment facility and handed over my financials to someone who would only give me $20 a day and I stayed sober.
11/05/22 I started using again, I started another business and I lost control again and back to 15 tanks a day for a month and change. I held on by a thread during thanksgiving even sucking down the redi whip in the garage. My family would find me weekly relapsing in parking lots with the passenger seats of their cars filled to the brim with galaxy tanks and at this point the tanks were being made in 1200g size and I was using 15 of those a day.
11/28/22 I went to the hospital after using so much nitrous I was burning holes on the outside of stomach and froze my skin passing out. I was 1013’d the day after thanksgiving and taken off all the medications I was wrongly given and I proceeded to enter inpatient rehab at a better facility until Christmas Eve.
12/26/22 I started using the day after Christmas, I couldn’t help it. The holidays, the loneliness and the addiction was crippling. No matter what I did I used.
01/05/23 My birthday, I quit on my own, I found an iop and I quit for 4 months. In this time I’ve gotten to be successful again but miserable trying to find a long term solution.
04/14/23 I started smoking weed, avoided meetings and I relapsed on nitrous and was arrested within 3 minutes of relapsing. I bailed out of jail and proceeded to use for a few days.
04/18/23 - 05/02/23 I went to a relapse program at a rehab Id previously graduated and found a new mindset. I took a deep dive, I felt hopeful and I opened the big book instead of being a meeting attender only. I found a sponsor and I’m trying, Hard!
Here I am 49 days later. I relapsed about 4 days ago. My mental health is shit from all the use. I’m using using about 35,000 grams worth of tanks a day. The tanks now come in 4 sizes, every smoke shop sells them and is stocked to the brim.
Why is this legal? Don’t ever say this isn’t addicting. If you don’t think nitrous can harm you, you’re wrong. I’m grateful to be alive and I won’t give up on finding long term recovery. This shit sucks. This story is my life and addiction is a cunt.

Hello! Booked a quick trip to Japan from July 20th to July 27th. Mainly staying in Toyko with a bullet train ride to Kyoto for 1 night. Here is the rough itinerary. Please let us know if there is any recommendations since it's all of our first time!
July 21st: Arrive at Narita Airport at 15:30 JST Go through immigration and customs Take a train to Hotel Gracery Shinjuku in Tokyo. Check in and then rest/Explore the neighborhood around/visit nearby attractions.

July 23rd: Begin with a visit to Tsukiji Fish Market and eat sushi for breakfast Explore district of Ginza for shopping. Head to Harajuku and Takeshita Street right after. Explore Meiji Shrine and Meiji Jingu Gyoen Park In the late evening, take a train to Kyoto and check into hotel.
July 24th: Visit Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine early, probably 6 or 7am Afterward, head to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and then explore Togetsukyo Bridge and Tenryu-ji Temple In the afternoon/evening , take a train back to Tokyo. Visit Omoide Yokochō for drinks and dinner

Hello, visiting Tokyo for 5 nights in July with my wife and two kids(12 and 14), on our way back to the US from South Korea, figured we would pop in to Tokyo for a few days and extend the trip while we are out that way. We have rented a place near Shibuya Station. Itinerary is below, would be great to get some opinions. Thursday’s plan seems a little packed but the stop durations and time to travel seem doable (could cut out Tokyo sky tree and move to another day if needed). Also, with local travel mostly from Shibuya, any rail passes make sense? I’ll admit I’m a little unstudied about the various rail cards and will be reading up but would appreciate a point in the right direction. Appreciate the read and feedback!
